Staples and GAP cross-promotional coupons: $25 off $50+ at GAP and 20% off at purchases with purchase at each other’s stores

Staples and GAP have two conditional cross-promotional coupons. Let me explain. If you make a purchase at Staples brick and mortar stores, their cash register spits out a receipt coupon where coupon code STAPLES gets you $25 off an order of $50 or more at the GAP website or their brick and mortar stores. On the other hand, if you make a purchase at GAP, they will get you a coupon for 20% off your regularly priced purchase at Staples. Isn’t it nice when retailers get along as if this was a rosy 50s movie? 😉

The promotions will be spitting out from their respective cash registers until 8/22/15. You have until 8/29/15 to use the coupon codes. A variety of terms and conditions apply as usual.

Aug 16-22: 800 Plenti Points with $50 Best Buy Gift Card

For the week of August 16-22 in 2015 at Rite Aid stores, you can earn 800 Plenti points (equivalent to $8 in future reward redemptions), if you purchase $50 or more in Best Buy Gift Cards. The promotion is limit two, so $100 in Best Buy Gift Cards get you $16 in future purchases (using the Plenti rewards). It is free to join their rewards program and you can also convert your previous Rite Aid Wellness rewards to the new one. See our earlier post on signing up for Plenti.

Aug 16-22: 20% off select iTunes Gift Cards

For the brick and mortar shopping week of Sunday August 16 until the close of business on Saturday August 22 in 2015, at Staples stores, you can get a 20% off discount on select iTunes Gift Cards, in the $100, $50, $30 and $25 denominations. Limit one per customer but since there’s no coupon or rebate, you can revisit and buy more.

Refurbished Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon with GSM unlocked) for $190

Galaxy Note temptation if you are a higher risk shopper and willing to buy seller-refurbished products. The seller-refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a former Verizon phone with its GSM part unlocked, is offered in either black or white for $190 with free shipping by eBay seller MobilePros1 (97.6%) with a limit of five per customer.

There is no mention of warranty but they offer a 14-day return policy from receipt date. This has 32GB on-board plus micro SD. Check the bands over there if you plan to use it with a GSM provider. No contract – you own it! Around 2000 units of this sold so far according to the eBay statistics as of the time of writing.

With the new Samsung flagship phones moving away from microSD cards, this is another decision point to consider. But again, keep in mind, there’s no warranty and it is seller refurbished, higher risk means lower price. So here we are 🙂

Scotch Chalkboard Tape (black, 1.88-Inch x 5-Yard) for $1.50

IF you are planning to place an order of $25 or more at Amazon, here’s a nice deal to append to it. For just $1.50, you can get the Scotch Chalkboard Tape (black, 1.88-Inch x 5-Yard). Limit six per customer. Because it is part of the Add-On program, you can’t just buy it on its own, even if you are willing to pay shipping out of your own pocket. The strange world of Amazon shipping 🙂 This averages 4.5 out of 5 based on 27 customer reviews. This is the chalkboard tape, not to be confused with the separate dry erase tape.

Lucky Rewards Members: Free 1lb of Driscoll’s Strawberries (redeem by 8/18/15)

IF they give awards for Rewards programs, perhaps Lucky’s deserves to win one! We have yet another unconditional freebie offered to Rewards members. Check your emails! You must click on the big round link to add the offer to your Lucky’s account. This offer gets you 1 lb of Driscoll’s strawberries! Once you add the offer to your rewards account, you have until 8/18/15 to redeem it, but don’t wait until the last minute, because we humans specialize in procrastination and you don’t want them to be out 🙂

The other nice thing is that their checkout registers (cashier or self-checkout) automatically picks off the free offers in your account – you don’t have to enter any coupons and neither does the cashier. So as long as you get the correct freebie, it works frictionlessly.

99c mp3-album: “Trigga Reloaded” by Trey Songz

For a limited time only, Google Play Music is offering the 18-track mp3-album “Trigga Reloaded” by Trey Songz for just 99c total. That’s for the whole album! This is a limited time offer but I don’t know when it expires.

Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S4 for $130 (Verizon with GSM unlocked)

If you are a more adventurous smartphone shopper and you are not afraid to deal with carrier topics or just want a Wifi-only device, you may be interested in this eBay offer: you get the seller-refurbished Samsung Galaxy S4 (model SCH-i545-16GB) in either white or black for $130 with free shipping. This was a Verizon phone with its GSM part unlocked. No contract! The carrier bands are listed over there if you want to make sure it will work with your carrier(s) of choice.

Free PrimePantry Shipping with purchase of 4+ qualifying items (choice from 100+ options)

In addition to the previously mentioned coupon and order credit offers, Amazon has yet another Prime Pantry offer. This one gets you free shipping when you purchase four or more of these items. Shipping is typically $6 flat per box. This is a fairly flexible offer, there are probably close to 200 different items eligible for the promotion (I am guestimating based on the rows of widgets over there). It includes a variety of consumables and household good that should make it easy to find four items that are useful enough and at a reasonable price to trigger the free shipping.

Speaking of which, separately, they have a number of coupons that are specifically designed for Prime Pantry products. Again, because Amazon is trying to make a push for this relatively new service, you may get better discounts than usual.

PrimePantry: $10 off $75+ coupon {also (YMMV) $5 slow shipping credit w/regular Amazon orders}

As Amazon continues to make a push for their Prime Pantry service, so is the continuous rollout of Prime Pantry offers. First up, if you are a Prime member and place a regular Amazon order, your shopping cart may offer you a $5 future order discount on Prime Pantry if you select the slow shipping method. I don’t know how the shopping cart decides who and when to offer this. You may also get the usual digital content $1 (more common) or $2 (less common) offers. You can only use one $5 Prime Pantry credit per offer.

Keep in mind, Prime Pantry has a $6 flat shipping per Prime Pantry box (whether it’s full or not).

Next up, a straight up coupon discount for Prime Pantry orders. Code PANTRY10 gets you $10 off an order of $75+. The coupon offer expires 8/16/15. Here’s a screenshot of the offer:

Two 12oz Honey Bears for $5 at Walgreens

Good until the close of business on Saturday August 15 in 2015 at Walgreens brick and mortar stores, you can get two 12oz Honey (bear containers) for $5 total using the coupon that can be found in their weekly ad which can be found right by the entrance of most Walgreens stores. That’s 1.5 lbs of honey for $5. The only ingredient is honey. Obviously don’t expect “advanced” features you would get from the more expensive “honeys”.

Two Expo Dry Erase Markers (Fine Tip) with Magnetic Marker Holder/Eraser for $3 total

If you are hardcore into dry-erase markers, this is a do-it-all type of a bundle. For around $3, you get two Fine Tip Expo dry-erase markers (one black, one blue) and a matching clip-on magnetic marker holder that is also an eraser on the other side. You need a magnetic surface to have it stick (or you can just lay it down on a flat surface). The price is just under $3 at the moment at amazon.com. The only downside is that this is part of the Amazon Add-On Program, so you must needs place a $25+ order before the shopping cart allows you to purchase it. You can buy as many as you like of this, so getting 9+ units would work.

Certified Preowned Samsung Galaxy S3 (with car charger and power bank) for $90 [Freedom Pop]

If you are looking for a former flagship smartphone to use as a Wifi-only device, or if you want a free or low-cost monthly service plan, running on the Sprint 4G LTE network, at the moment, discounter Tanga.com is offering the Freedom Pop version of the Certified-PreOwned Samsung Galaxy S3 for $90 with free shipping, along with a free car charger and a free power bank. This is only available in the white color scheme, with a limit of ten per customer.

This is locked to Freedom Pop in terms of cellular service. If you don’t want cellular, you can use it as Wifi-only. Freedom Pop has a free plan (with limited benefits obviously) and low cost monthly plans. When you activate this, they typically start you with free trials on the for-pay plans, so you have to remember to manually opt-out of the premium services if you don’t want to charged later. There is no contract, so you can change things any time you like. No contract!

If you are fond of Domino’s Pizza, you can essentially get an effective 15% off discount (in addition to future coupons and promotions) at Staples between August 9-15 in 2015. That’s because they have a 15% off sale on Domino’s Gift Cards. No coupons, no rebates, the gift cards are automatically discounted at checkout. Limit three gift cards per customer during this promotion. Here is a screenshot of the relevant promotion from their weekly ad:

Watch for FREE: two new Amazon pilots

If you like to watch pilots of TV shows before their fate is decided, Amazon has two more new ones waiting for your evaluation. You can watch them for free regardless of Prime membership status. Both are hourlong dramas, the Sneaky Pete (which has an early twist), and the more adult/mature Casanova (yes, that Casanova). You can submit feedback over there using the various buttons and/or post a star rating or even a text review.
