YMMV $25 off a $50+ Amazon purchase if you pay with American Express Membership Points

If you have an American Express credit card that is participating in the Membership Points, there’s a hot new promotion running at Amazon until 12/31/16 that gets you $25 off a purchase of $50+ of items sold and shipped by Amazon actual (not by marketplace sellers) IF you pay (at least partially) with your American Express Membership points.

You don’t even have to pay for the full order amount with AMEX points. You can select how many points you want to use. This is important because the exchange rate is not favorable. One AMEX Point is the equivalent of less than a penny.

If you have eligible credit cards in your account, you will see this offer while adding items to your shopping cart or advancing to the checkout page.

NOTE: this promotion is YMMV as it may be targeted to customers with AMEX Membership Points in their account and it may be further sub-targeted based on whatever factors Amazon’s computers use to decide to offer these things. I have no way of knowing how many people are eligible…

T-Mobile Tuesday freebies for September 6 headlined by Subway chicken sandwich

It’s gluten overload time at the T-Mobile Tuesdays for September 6 in 2016 where the headliner freebie is a very specific item, a 6-inch Subway Oven-Roasted Chicken sandwich. You can customize the sandwich any way you like, but the main ingredient (oven-roasted chicken) cannot be changed. If you are vegan/veggie, you can always ask them not to put chicken in the sandwich or ask for the chicken on the side and you can hand it off to your barbarian meat-eating human friend or pet friend (assuming they are allowed to eat chickens) 🙂

This is the first time they are doing this, so I do not know how it will work. Will it be a unique promo code like the Dominos offer or some kind of cash register wizardry that only works for 2 minutes like the Wendy’s frosty? Also unknown for now is whether the limit is one per line (if you have multiple lines) or one per account. I am assuming it would be one per line since they would have no way of restricting it at the cash register…

… unlike the Vudu offer, which is restricted in your Vudu account, so you can only add one $5.50 store credit per Vudu account per week. Speaking of which, it is returning as well, and the timing is right as Season Passes for some of the Fall TV shows are starting to pop-up.

The teaser only has three items so far, maybe something else will get added by Tuesday morning. The third freebie is a returnee as well, the $15 Lyft ride credit.

USB Flash Drive Deal: 64GB USB 2.0 Lexar for $8

Everything generates data these days and more storage is needed! If you are okay with USB 2.0 Flash Drives, then we have a great deal for you. You pay $8 and you get the 64GB Lexar JumpDrive S50, model LJDS50-64GABNL, from Amazon actual. There is a limit of up to three units per customer. Prime members get their usual free 2-day shipping (thankfully they did not make it an Add-On item *fingers crossed*). If you are not a Prime member, you get free S&H with $49+ in eligible goods or $25+ in books.

PS: I do not know when this offer expires. It is not part of their daily deals. Purple is the only color because this particular group of products is color coded by storage size. An interesting approach 🙂

Kindle First Choices for September 2016 are up: pick one from six ebooks

A new month is here, which means, among many other things, that Amazon Prime members can get another free pre-release e-book from a choice of six that as participating in the Kindle First program. You can read one of those six books for FREE right now. The rest of them will become available on October 1st. Non-Prime members can purchase one for $2. The rest are priced $5 for all.

Without further ado, here are the six choices for September 2016:

  • “The Special Power of Restoring Lost Things” by Courtney Elizabeth Mauk in Literary Fiction
  • “The Unbroken Line of the Moon (The Valhalla Series Book 1)” by Johanne Hildebrandt and Tara F. Chace in Historical Women’s Fiction
  • “The Age of Daredevils” by Michael Clarkson in Historical Nonfiction
  • “Who We Were Before” by Leah Mercer in Family Life
  • “Exhume (Dr. Schwartzman Series Book 1)” by Danielle Girard in Psychological Thrillers
  • “Blood on the Tracks (Sydney Rose Parnell Series Book 1)” by Barbara Nickless in Police Procedurals (because you can’t get enough of them on TV!)

As usual, if none of these jumps out at you, you can simply wait for a few days until they get more reviews. The more reviews, the easier it may be to decide. Remember, they won’t run out of these, so you don’t have to hurry up and get one. You have until September 30 in 2016, but don’t wait until 11:59pm on that day 🙂

You can see them all at the Kindle First page.
