$25 off purchase of $100+ in DeWalt Products

Amazon has all kinds of different types of promotions, one almost needs a user manual to keep track of them (maybe I need to create one!). One kind of promotion they sometimes run are in-cart discounts, without the need of an actual coupon or even clicking on click-on coupons. The magic just happens in the shopping cart when the correct type and amount of products are added there.

One of those offers is now running for DeWalt tools and products. When your order total is $100 or more in eligible products (before taxes), you will automatically get a $25 off discount in the top right corner of the shopping cart. You can see the thousands of eligible products at the page over there.

The items must be sold and shipped by Amazon actual, not by marketplace sellers, and they have to be new condition, not used or refurbished or open-box. The offer expires 12/22/16. I do not know if this works multiple times or if the discount is once per customer during the promotional period. I can’t test this since I would have to make a $100+ purchase just to test it and I’m a poor blogger 🙂

In addition to the above promotion, there is a banner of thumbnails towards the top of the page over that highlights some other DeWalt promotions. Some of them may be stackable with this, so be sure to check them out. The ultimate decider of what’s eligible is their shopping cart, so the best way to find out what works is to add the combination of items of interest and proceed to checkout to see the discounts and totals (the top right corner of the page). This is the step before placing an order, so you don’t have to place an actual order to test things.

Starting December 10: double Plenti Points on Weekend Gas Purchases

Especially if you do a lot of driving in weekends this December, starting on the 10th of the month, you can earn twice as many Plenti points on gas purchases at participating Exxon-Mobil stations. This offer is currently teased in “preview mode” on the Plenti website. It will go live on December 10 (2016), so make sure you check and sign up on that date if you are interested in it.

Twice the points is not a lot unless you drive a lot. It’s basically one penny per gallon, but on a road trip or if you visiting friends and relatives up and down the interstate on weekends, it adds up quickly 🙂

Logitech M570 wireless mouse and trackball for $25

And now something for the power users, if you like the cross between a trackball and a multi-button wireless mouse, the Logitech M570 is currently on sale for $25 in new condition at Amazon by Amazon proper with a limit of five units per customer. It uses the standard Logitech nano receiver so you can mix and match it with other compatible Logitech products while only using one USB-dongle per computer.

This is a popular critter, it has over 10,000 customer reviews with an average 4.5 out of 5 and has 440+ answered questions by viewers like you 🙂 It is currently the best selling trackball at Amazon, ahead of other oddly shaped trackball creatures (and miscategorized mice).

Classic scifi e-book for just $0.25: “The Forever War”

A great deal on one of the classic science-fiction books, the Kindle edition ofJoe Haldeman’s “The Forever War” is on sale for a limited time for just a quarter, that’s right $0.25, at amazon.com. This is a limited time promotion, but I do not know when it expires. It is a 294 page book. At this price, it is really a must-have for your digital reading collection!

Motorola Moto E (Tracfone) for $20 w/free S&H

If you need a budget Android phone that is actually usable considering the price, the new condition Tracfone edition of the Motorola Moto E is on sale for $20 with free shipping by ShopCellDeals on eBay. They have a 99.5% feedback score and they ship from Virginia. Over 3650 phones got sold so far from this listing.

Tracfone is a prepaid seller, so you are under no obligation to start or transfer or continue service with them. It’s all up to you. Note however that the Tracfone is the only wireless carrier that you can use this phone with.

The specs are basic on the phone, but the Moto E was part of the earlier budget wave started by the Illinois pre-Google pre-Lenovo version of Motorola, along with the Moto G and the Moto X. It has a 4.3″ qHD screen, “q” in this case is “quarter HD”, not “quad HD”, which translates to 960 x 540 pixels. It runs on a dual core 1.2GHz processor and Android 4.4.

If you need more power, there are many great choices out there, but you won’t find them for $20 delivered and in new condition 🙂

Buy Two Starbucks $40 Cups, Get $15 e-gift card bonus

Starbucks is running a limited time holiday promotion on their website where if you spend $60+ on eligible items, you will receive a $15 Starbucks e-gift card. They are also running a free shipping promotion. You can use that for many items there, including the January 2017 $40 Cup. One is $40, but if you buy two, you have a total of $80, which gets you both the free shipping, and the $15 e-gift card.

As you can see in the screenshot below, it is excluded from many other promotions, but it is good for the free shipping and the e-gift card offers:

If you are not familiar with the “January $40 cup”, check out our detailed breakdown post on whether it makes sense to buy it. Spoiler alert: if you plan to buy coffee or tea in January 2017 on 20 (or more) different days, you come out well ahead!

T-Mobile Tuesdays for December 6: Red Robin appetizer, Inkly Greeting Card, Grommet coupon

It’s appetizers and cards and coupons at the T-Mobile Tuesdays for December 6 in 2016. A trio of offers are teased ahead of time, headlined by an appetizer at Red Robin. This is not available for take-out, so you have to stay there, and there is a limit of one appetizer per table. This restrictions could backfire through if everyone shows up and orders an appetizer and water and each member of the party sits at a different table 🙂

Next up, it’s a free Inkly greeting card, you can scout it ahead of time by checking out their website. Likewise with the “The Grommet” coupon, it’s $12 off your order over there.

So none of the returning champions this week (no Wendy’s, no digital movie).

10% off at Cost Plus World Market with Valpak coupon

Don’t throw away your Valpak coupons envelop before you open it! You may find inside a nice coupon for the Cost Plus World Market that gets you an extra 10% off your purchase. The coupon works in-store (physically) or you can use coupon code SAVE410 at checkout over there. Per the print, it expires 12/11/16. As usual, various exclusions apply (gift cards, alcoholic beverages, etc).

You can sign up now for the Discover Q1 2017 Cashback Bonus

Time flies and already, if you have a Discover credit card, you can pre-signup for the Q1 of 2017 5% cashback bonus rewards categories. The earning period is the usual calendar quarter, January 1st until March 31st in 2017. Don’t wait until the last day of the quarter though, as some of the transactions may not get in the system on time to earn the rewards.

Amazon is no longer going to be featured, so if you want to still get 5%, simply buy Amazon gift cards in Q4 2016 (if you are still under $1500 for your card).

discover_q1_2017_cashback_bonus

The categories are pretty good though for Q1:2017, you get Gas Stations (almost everyone with a car needs gas), wholesale clubs (Costco doesn’t accept Discover, so by default it is not eligible), and ground transportation (but travel agencies or travel aggregators are not eligible). You can find a detailed list of what exactly is eligible and ineligible on the Discover website.

Some of the notable exclusions: gas stations at superstores/supermarkets may not be eligible (only way to tell for sure is try it and do the math in your statement).

If you have multiple Discover credit cards, good news, the $1500 limit is per account, not per person/SSN.

Kindle First Choices for December 2016 are available

If you are a Prime member and a book fan, the start of a new month is extra special, because you get one more ebook for free, a pre-release one at that, as part of the Kindle First program. Non-Prime members can buy one of the six choices for $2. All these will be released to the general population on January 1st, in 2017.

Your choices for December 2016 are…

  • “Fate of Perfection (Finding Paradise Book 1)” by K.F. Breene (this one already has 41 customer reviews!)
  • “The Missing” by Caroline Eriksson, Tiina Nunnally in Psychological Suspense
  • “The Original Dream” by Nukila Amal, Linda Owens in Magical Realism
  • “Into the Thickening Fog” by Andrei Gelasimov, Marian Schwartz in Literary Fiction
  • “Sisters One, Two, Three” by Nancy Star in Contemporary Fiction
  • “Hope’s Peak (Harper and Lane)” by Tony Healey in Thrillers

kindle_first_december_2016

As usual, you don’t have to hurry and pick one right now. You have until December 31st to make your choice, and they are e-books, so they won’t “run out” of copies. IF none of them stands out, you can wait for 1-2 weeks until they get a lot more reviews, which can be helpful is figuring out what to avoid (more so than what to get) 🙂
