Mechanical Keyboard: 104-key Aukey with Blue Switches and LED for $29 with coupon

Mechanical keyboard fans, unite and take over! This is a hot deal for a 104-key keyboard. It’s a combination of a sale AND a coupon! The 104-key Aukey with Blue Switches and LED lights is on sale for $40 sold by Aukey and fulfilled by Amazon, so it is Prime eligible. Then enter coupon code AUKEYBD6 in the shopping cart (that’s 28% off) over there, and the price drops to $28.79 with free 2-day shipping for Prime members!

This is a brand new model (which is why it is discounted to generate traction), so it only has three customer reviews so far, all posted in March 2017.

“Space Above and Beyond” DVD set for $20 with free S&H

With this show not being able on any streaming services (I’m guessing it must be some kind of a rights issue?), it is hard to find it on DVD at a reasonable price. Which is why this is a exciting if you want to buy/watch this underrated scifi TV series.

Syfy’s (then Sci-Fi) “Space Above and Beyond” lasted one season (back then it was 24 episodes, that’s like two seasons of today’s shows) and did not get renewed. It has ahead of its time in the more PoV-style realism that became a lot more popular after Ronald D. Moore’s “Battlestar Galactica”.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, the DVD set for Season 1 is available in “Used – Good” condition for $20 with free shipping by the Goodwill of Seattle through Amazon Warehouse Deals. This will ship directly from Seattle, so it is not Prime eligible. But everyone gets free shipping regardless of Prime status.

12pk Strong Kind Bars (Hickory) for $10.64

If you like your protein bars to be on the spicy side of things, but still give you solid nutrition, the “Hickory Smoked” flavor of the “Strong & Kind” line of Kind bars is on sale for $10.64 at Amazon.com. The sale is so good you are only allowed to buy one. You can also start a “Subscribe and Save” on this with a 5% or 15% discount (depending on how many SnS eligible items you have during a month).

I have repeatedly bought and eaten the whole line-up of these, they are very good, with minimal iffy ingredients, and a solid 10g of nut protein per bar. These are best described as sweet and spicy. They also go well with different beverages, coffee, milk or milk-alternatives, etc.

Email coupon: $10 off a $10+ purchase at CentralComputer

This is another brick and mortar coupon delivered by email. Regional computer store chain “Central Computers” is offering a $10 off coupon towards the purchase of $10+ to all their email subscribers. Check your emails or your spam folder if you are subscribed! The coupon is a unique promo code for each customer and can be used until 4/21/17 at 7:30pm local time. A very specific expiration date.

Partial screenshot of the offer below:

The coupon can only be used IN-STORE, not for online purchases. It can only be used once per customer and can only be used for items that are available (in-stock).

$5 to spend at Kohls (check emails)

If you are signed-up for the Kohls e-mail newsletters, make sure you check them! One of them for April 6 has a personalized coupon code that gets you $5 off a purchase of $5 or more at your local Kohls brick and mortar stores. The coupon is good until the close of business on Sunday April 9, and can only be used in-store. This has to be used on a single transaction of $5+. The usual Kohls coupon exclusions for promotions of this kind apply.

Per the email, the coupon is also stackable with two other promotions, the $10/$50 promotion (get $10 Kohls Cash for every $50 you spend) and the 15% to 20% off coupon on your purchase. These coupons have different expiration days.

There are also recurring promotions on Kohls at the Discover website. Check the “Discover Deals” section there to see if their computers are targeting you for the promotion.

Free Chromecast after you pay for 1-month of YouTube TV

Cordcutter deal alert! If you live in one of the five regions that are the first to launch the new YouTube TV streaming service, you are in luck! Google is not only running a 30-day free trial, but if you stick around after the free trial and pay for one month ($35 per month), you will receive a free Chromecast device. Given the price of the Chromecast, this is almost like getting two months for free!

One sore point however is that you don’t have as much flexibility when watching on an actual television. You have to use a Chromecast or Android TV. There is no support for the wonderful Roku boxes or Apple TV or gaming platforms (XBox or PS4). I don’t know if they have plans to expand there or not.

Having to use Chromecast (the hardware device) can be annoying because it takes up one HDMI sport AND it needed to be powered, so you either have to use a USB port on your TV or attach it to wall AC to USB power, or rotate portable power bricks (like the ones that power smartphones) to keep feeding it.

I want a Roku app 🙂

Other than that, this is the best streaming service in terms of features. You get unlimited cloud DVR (that lasts up to nine months per recording), something none of the other services offer. You can link up to six Google accounts to one $35/month subscription. Three of those six subscriptions can watch live shows in parallel. That’s three live streams.

There’s plenty of sports channels of the ESPN, Fox and Comcast variety, however, the deal killer for some NBA and baseball fans is that the Turner networks are NOT part of the package at the moment.

NOTE: $35 per month is if you sign up with a computer or using Android devices. If you sign up through iTunes, Google passes YOU the “Apple tax”, you pay $40 per month instead.

April 4-10: 100 Bonus Stars with select purchases (SBUX Rewards)

A lot of recent Starbucks Rewards offers have been of the “after 2pm” kind, but rejoice! This new one, a “Join the Challenge” dash (meaning you have to manually click the email or app to activate the offer IF you have been invited to participate) works any time of the day. You have to buy one of each from three different product categories between April 4-10 in 2017, and if you “succeed”, you will receive 100 Bonus Stars, which are 80% of a full reward (a full reward is 125 stars). You can only earn one 100-bonus during this promotion.

As you can see in the screenshot above, you have to buy one of each in the three product categories. The breakfast sandwich is the easiest because they are the lowest priced 🙂 The bistro boxes and Evolution juices are $5+, so that’s where the decision whether to jump in will be made. Considering the bonus is almost a full reward, consider it a “Buy Two, Get One Free” type of a promotion!

Free Bagel Every Day in April 2017 at Panera (YMMV)

Panera Bread is running another promotion fro select Panera Rewards members that is definitely YMMV. If you are eligible for this promotion, you should have an email in your inbox that informs you of this promotion. You get a free bagel per day (no spread of course, just the bagel) for the whole month of April 2017 at their Panera stores. You have to use your Panera rewards card, which I’m assuming is how they are keeping track and enforcing the one per day thing 🙂

It is a bit of a razor and blades thing, because who is going to eat just a bagel without a spread and without coffee or tea or some other liquid to push it down? 🙂

I rarely go to Panera, which is perhaps why I have been targeted with this and similar promotions. Sometimes companies run offers like this to “encourage” customers to visit more often and develop a habit. Which is why they are running it for a month. If you get used to going to Panera for a whole month, chances are, a percentage of those people will continue going there after the promotion is over. Why pay money for ads (which annoy most people) when you can instead spend the money giving potential customers free food? 🙂

They previously had offers with free coffee as well, which is a more freerider-friendly freebie since you can drink coffee on its own and get free refills if you stay in-store 🙂

12oz Caribou Coffee Costa Rica (Ground) for $3.44

Coffee time! If you like ground coffee from Costa Rica, load up on this! At the moment, Amazon actual is offering 12oz Caribou Coffee Costa Rica (Ground) for $3.44 with a limit of four bags per customer. The only catch is that this is an ADD-ON item, so you must place an order of $25+, elsewise it won’t let you buy it.

PS: this is also eligible for Subscribe-and-Save discounts making it $3.27 per (or less if you S&S five or more items for a particular month).

Don’t miss the Chase Q2 (2017) Cashback Bonus rewards

Don’t you dare miss the second quarter 5% Chase Freedom cashback rewards bonus offers! They offer two very popular categories that almost every person spends money on! Grocery stores and Drugstores! You get 5% on up to $1500 spending on those two categories between April 1st and June 30 in 2017!

The $1500 total is on both categories, not each category. However, if you have multiple Chase Freedom credit cards (Chase has been buying other small credit card companies left and merging them into their own), the amount is $1500 per card for the quarter.

As you can see from their promotion, a lot of popular stores are participating in this promotion, both on the grocery and the drugstore front!
