Surprise! Second Double Stars Starbucks Rewards on 6/26/17

Starbucks Rewards already had the June double stars day on the 12th of the month, but surprise-surprise, in a new email they have announced a second Double Stars day for Monday June 26 (2017) ~ two weeks later! You don’t have to manually activate Double Stars, but I don’t know if everyone gets exactly the same day or it is spread out among rewards members.

Check your email or Starbucks app to make sure it is so for your own account. Strategically double stars days are great for restocking on coffee and tea, making “capital purchases” like cups, coffee machines, and other accessories, and things of that nature. Gift cards and reloads do not earn any stars, so it doesn’t matter when you make them.

Weekend Dash returns at Starbucks Rewards

The weekend is almost upon us, and you may be eligible for another Weekend Dash as part of the Starbucks Rewards. This is by invitation, so check your email or app to see if the Starbucks Rewards computers selected you. If yes, make sure you activate the offer, otherwise you will not earn the bonus.

So, between the store opening on Friday June 23 until the close of business on Sunday June 25 in 2017, you will earn 75 Bonus Stars if you make five purchases (or more), OR you will earn 25 Bonus Stars if you make three purchases. As with other offers, once you get to the first level, you have to try to get to the second level since the bonus is much better!

YMMV Noah’s Bagels Coupon: $2 Bagel and Shmear on Tuesdays in June

Bonus Starbucks Stars: Buy 3 select items, get 100 Bonus Stars

I should preface this like all other Starbucks Rewards promotion, I have no way of knowing whether the offers are sent to every single person participating in their rewards program, or only a subset based on how their computers decide to target promotions, so it’s always a YMMV as to whether you will be offered this.

This offer is best suited for people who typically buy breakfast and lunch there, since the items are too expensive to buy just for the sake of the promotions. So the offer is this: after you join the challenge, between June 20-27 in 2017, you must needs purchase one item from each one of these three product categories:

  • one Evolution Fresh juice (these are not cheap!)
  • any Warm (non-Breakfast) sandwich
  • any Breakfast sandwich

It’s coffee time! There are many ways to brew coffee, and each way has its own pros and cons. Free Habit Charburger with email coupon until 7/7/17

If you are subscribed to the Habit Burger emailing list, make sure you don’t delete their emails! You may have been sent an email coupon that gets you a FREE Charburger with Cheese for FREE! You just show the coupon in your email and you get the burger for FREE! You don’t have to print it, you can just show them the email using your phone or tablet or 2-in-1 🙂

Select locations are not eligible – they are listed at the bottom of the email. You don’t have to buy anything else. You can theoretically grab the burger to go and pay for nothing.

Good couponing karma dictates it may be a good idea to buy something as well, eg get a drink or fries, or make it a combo. This encourages restaurants to offer more freebie promotions, because if no one buys anything else, they won’t run as many freebie promotions 🙂

GooglePLAY: rent any movie for $1.50 [HD, No Ads]

If you are part of the Google PLAY digital ecosystem, when you peruse the Google PLAY store, you will find an offer that allows you to rent any movie in digital HD for $1.50. You have to manually add the offer to your Google PLAY account by clicking through it using a web browser or traversing the Play Store Android app.

The offer runs until July 8, 2017. If you don’t use it, it expires. You can use it for one movie, It will get discounted automatically, and you will see the discount before you pay for the rental. You can also verify that the offer is in your account by going at the “Account” part of your GooglePLAY and looking under “Rewards”:

Chase Third Quarter 2017 5% Cashback Bonus rewards are Restaurants and Movie Theaters

Everybody loves eating, well, at least has to eat, so if you have a Chase credit card that is participating in the 5% Cashback Bonus rewards, make sure you activate the 3rd Quarter promotion, running between July 1st until September 30 in 2017. You earn 5% back in cashback in Restaurants and Movie Theaters!

As usual, there is a maximum of $1500 spending per credit card. Meaning the first $1500 during the quarter you spend in Restaurant and Movies will earn 5% cashback. Any purchases over $1500 during the quarter will earn the standard 1% cashback instead.

The good thing though is that the $1500 limit is per credit card, not per person. So if you have two or more of these credit cards, you can max out at $1500 per credit card.

The other nice thing with Chase is that you can retroactively activate it later in the quarter, so even if you forget to pre-activate, you won’t miss out on the earnings. But there is a cut-off point, you can’t activate it when it gets close to expiration. The activation page (when logged on to your Chase account) or the email prompting you to activate will have the exact dates and details…

Another offer of edible interest is making the rounds at the American Express Offers, which you can easily find when you logon to your AMEX account. They are waiting for you below the account summary up top. One such offers gets you a $5 statement credit if you spend $15 or more at GrubHub during the promotional period which ends July 31, 2017.

You must first activate the offer by adding it to your account, which is easier than it sounds, you just press the “Add to Card” button 🙂 You only earn one $5 credit during this promotional period.

TOR (the publisher) has a monthly ebook freebie as well, but unlike Kindle First and the Samsung App Store freebie, it does not last the whole month. You usually have about a week to claim it once the giveaway goes live at the TOR ebook club page.

You have to enter your email and it is only available in US and Canada. You can then download the ebook for FREE without any DRM in the ePUB (almost everything else) and MOBI (Kindle devices). The book for June 2017 is a space-based science fiction classic, John Scalzi’s “Old Man’s War”. Get it! Even if you have the Kindle version, since this will let you read it anywhere DRM-free!
