Back to School Penny Sales start July 5 at OfficeMax and Depot

Yes, the poor students barely got out of school, but that doesn’t stop the Office Supplies Industrial Complex. The Back to School Price Wars officially begin on Sunday July 5 at Office Max and Depot stores in the USA. Their front page of their Weekly Ad (July 5-11, 2015) is loaded with 1c items. You have to make a $5 minimum purchase, which shouldn’t be hard between the sales and the clearance items. If nothing else, pick up a gift card 🙂

The 1c items include sharpeners, erasers, and pencil pouches. The offers are limit three per item, so not bad. At the 25c price level, there’s glue, rulers, and broad tip markers. And at the $1 price point, there’s Sharpies five packs (yum yum!) and Papermate mechanical pencil sets and mini staplers.

Meanwhile at Staples
Meanwhile if you are prebuying supplies for the next season and want the more desirable Ticonderoga pencils, for the same time period, Staples will be selling a 24pk for $2. That’s an insane price for the Ticonderogas, 12 for $1 – they may sellout.

Speaking of Staples, they will be doing the “Less List” again this year, so prices of popular items will remain the same (discounted but not necessarily doorbusters) throughout the back to school season. But they will have some other specials too, for example, a 3pk of Pentel hi-polymer erasers will be going for just 75c, with a limit of five per customer.

And Walgreens too
No penny deals at Walgreens, but the 39c Wexford coupon offers are making their debut for this B2S season. The 3×5 inch index cards are probably the best deal of the lot since they rarely get discounted after the B2S (Back to School) season ends. There’s also a 5 for $1 coupon that includes 2pk erasers or 15pk pencil heads.
