The price before the sale is $28, but it will be lower during the lighting deal. I haven’t used this particular model, but I am currently using a sister model, the Mediasonic HW-150PVR. Here’s my useful Text and Pictures Unboxing. As you can see, they are NOT identical. I have to write-up a review of that, but to cut a long story short, if you were comfortable programming a VCR, you will be fine with it. If not, if you expect Apple/iOS level of user interface, you may find it frustrating. If you are comfortable with the cable box remote, then it may be a 50-50. This is not a TiVo, so don’t expect miracles. It’s best if you watch a few hours of OTA TV per week, and one show at a time, so it can’t help you with Prime-time crunch-time.
