YMMV: $3 ExtraBucks in yellow CVS Coupon Booklet by mail

This is a YMMV since I have no way of knowing if every CVS ExtraBucks customer is getting this or only a subset as determined by their computers. I haven’t been to a CVS in about a month (I used to go weekly), so maybe their computer is running a “reactivation campaign” to bring back customers who hasn’t shopped there in a while. Regardless…

… this arrived by mail last week, a yellow coupon booklet that has $45 in coupon discounts BUT that’s not all! There is also a flat out $3 Extra Bucks you can use during your next CVS purchase of $3 or more. This is not earned Extra Bucks but an actual out of the blue bonus! Of course I will spend it, so I suppose the “reactivation campaign” is successful 🙂

The $3 Extra Bucks is on the inside backcover of the little booklet (cropped so as not to show the coupon bar code for obvious reasons):

Cordcutter Deal at CVS this week with Gift Cards

If you are a cordcutter, there’s a great deal this week at your local CVS stores! If you buy $50 in plastic gift cards from Netflix or GooglePLAY or Xbox/Microsoft, their cash register will print just for you $10 in Extra Bucks. When you do the math, this is a virtual 20% off discount! Limit one per customer. Offer ends Saturday night when the stores close (5/27/17).

Neither Netflix nor GooglePLAY gift cards get discounted on a regular basis, so this is a great opportunity to score a prepaid discount. Or you can hold on to the gift cards and give them out as gifts in case of emergency ~ Dads and Grads are upon us after all 🙂

Another opportunity: Once you get the $10 Extra Bucks, then you can go for the $20+ in P&G products promotion at CVS. If you spend that much (finding things you need and/or on sale) will get you a new $5 in Extra Bucks. So you can daisy-chain the two offers 🙂

Feb 7-13: buy 2 Nature Valley packs for $4, get $1 Extrabuck

If you like Nature Valley nutrition bars but don’t need to buy Costco-level quantities, there is a nice deal at CVS stores for ExtraBucks rewards members running February 7-13 (2016) as their “Healthy Deal of the Week”. Screenshot from the ad below:

cvs_nature_valley

You buy two packs of Nature Valley granola bars (six individually wrapped per pack) for $4 and you receive $1 ExtraBuck for future purchase. So this makes it a very nice $1.50 per pack. The standard ones are perhaps the best in terms of bang for the buck and nutrition, but to each his or her own 🙂

This offer also includes select cereal from General Mills and Kellogg’s as well, so you could mix and match. The ad says this is a “limit one per household” for the week.

TIP: always check the limits printed on your receipt after you buy an eligible item. Sometimes the ad says “limit one” but it’s actually “limit two”. If the receipt tells you have more available (eg offer is not completed), you can buy more. It is the cash register computer that decides what’s eligible, not the text in the ad – because it’s the cash register computer that prints the ExtraBucks 🙂

CVS ExtraBucks: Buy Square Reader for $10, Get $10 ExtraBucks

There are Square card reader free-after-purchase type of offers at many retailers, but most of them give you the purchase price back as a Square credit. If you want a faster way to get your money back, for the week of January 31 until the close of business on Saturday 2/6/16, at CVS brick and mortar stores, you get $9.99 Extrabucks if you purchase the Square Reader for $9.99. The Sales Tax, if applicable, is NOT refunded. This is limit one per household. You have to be a member of the CVS Extrabucks rewards program to take advantage of the offer.
