New Prime Pantry promotion is live, buy 5 participating items, get free S&H

October 2016 is here and this means a new round of Prime Pantry free shipping promotions. The mechanics of the offer are as before, you have to buy five items from the list of participating products and you’ll get free shipping instead of having to pay the usual $6 Prime Pantry shipping fee.

What many people don’t know is that you don’t have to buy five different items, you just have to buy a total of five things. It could be five units of a single item, or any combination in-between. So if you need a specific item and the price is right, you can just buy five units of that item and get the free shipping.

This offer is separate from the occasional slow-shipping Prime incentive that gets you a $6 Prime Pantry credit. Also, some of the participating items may have their own offers, be it clip-on coupons or other combined purchase offers, so pay attention to those as well to make the most of the promotion.

Since Prime Pantry is for Prime members only, I don’t even know why they are charging that $6 box fee since it looks like they are more or less delivered the same way as other Amazon items. It’s not like AmazonFresh where they have fresh and frozen food that needs special handling. Prime Pantry is probably a bit of a “Samsung move” by Amazon, just throw many things out there and see what sticks 🙂

This offer ends 10/31/16 and by reading the terms and conditions, it doesn’t restrict it to one use per customer during this month. So if you are a regular Prime Pantrier, you could try to see if it works a second time as well during the month. I am not currently planning a Pantry order, so I can’t test it at the moment.

12pk RX Bar (Chocolate Sea Salt) for $18

If you are part of the RxBar protein bar cult, Prime Pantry has a great deal on the, you can get a 12-pack of the Chocolate Sea Salt for $18.19. This is a pretty good deal, it comes out to about $1.50 per bar. Usually $2 or less per bar is a good deal since these are currently popular bars. NOTE: availability of these may vary regionally and depending on when you check.

This is actually my favorite flavor of their line! If you have any Prime Pantry slow-Prime-shipping credits, you can take advantage of this offer without paying shipping fees. Otherwise there’s a $6 flat shipping for the Pantry box.

Speaking of which, September is here, and they have a new free shipping promotion, if you buy five units of participating items, you get free shipping. You don’t have to buy five different items, any combination that results in five or more units of eligible items.

Prime Pantry Free Shipping with Coupon and Purchase of Five Eligible items

A new month brings multiple “gifts” for Prime members. One is the free pre-release e-book. Another is a new coupon code for free Prime Pantry shipping. This month (August 2016) coupon code PANTRYAUG gets you free shipping if you buy five items from this long list of eligible products. You don’t have to buy five different items, you can also buy five units of a single item, or any combination. You will see the free shipping appear in your shopping cart once you have enough eligible items there.

If you find enough items above to get free shipping, here are a few PrimePantry items that are a good deal as of the time of writing (the ones below don’t qualify for the five free shipping requirement)

Prime Day $10 Promo Code good for Prime Pantry as well

Good news bargain hunters! If you participated in the Prime Day Amazon Gift Card promotion (you got a $10 promotional credit if you purchased a $50+ Amazon Gift Card), you can use that promotional credit at PrimePantry as well, not just for regular Amazon.com purchases. Here’s the evidence in my shopping cart (screenshot below):

primepantry_eligible_for_primeday_promocode

Not only that, but it is also stackable with the July free shipping coupon PANTRYJUL, as long as you buy five items from the Free Shipping List. You don’t have to buy five different items, you can buy five of the same item, or any combination. As long as the item is on the list.

PS: I don’t have any active PrimePantry slow-shipping credits, so I don’t know if that’s stackable as well.

100pk Twinings Earl Grey Tea Bags for $8 [Prime Pantry]

If you are planning to place a Prime Pantry order and like Earl Grey tea in the tea bag form, we have good news for you, the 100pk of Twinings is currently going for $8 exactly through Prime Pantry with a limit of 30 per customer. One 100-pack is almost 2% of the whole Prime Pantry box, so you can stock up for a whole zipcode if you like 🙂 This currently averages 4.6 out of 5 based on 440+ customer reviews.

PrimePantry is currently the best place to buy RxBars

The RxBars have managed to build their own momentum with their no nonsense styling and down to earth ingredients (the most “offensive” thing in them of the “natural flavors” kind). And as such, their prices are holding up to where it’s hard to buy them for less than $2 per bar, even with Subscribe and Save discounts.

So if you want to stock up on those, at the moment, the best place to get them is Prime Pantry. The 12pk of Blueberry goes for $20.71, while the tastier 12pk of Chocolate Sea Salt goes for $20.57. This is a straight up price, you don’t have to commit to Subscribe and Save or have to worry about adjusting subscription quantities based on future prices.

However the issue with Prime Pantry is that you have to pay a $6 flat shipping fee for the order. If you have any available $6 slow-shipping Pantry Prime credits, you can use them to offset the shipping fee. If not, you either have to pay the fee or buy 5+ of the items that are participating in the July Free Shipping promotion (use coupon code PANTRYJUL).

According to the pages over there, one 12-pack is approximately 4% of a PrimePantry box, but that’s not the limiting factor. As of posting time, there is a limit of two per Pantry box in the Chocolate flavor and three in the Blueberry flavor.

This is a developing situation, so far PrimePantry only has three of the flavors which is more than they had a few weeks ago.

NOTE: the prices and quantities mentioned in this post are as of July 20, 2016.

10pk Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Black Tea for $1 (Prime Pantry)

If you are planning to place a Prime Pantry order, here’s one little thing to add to your order, especially nice if you are creating gift or care packs for multiple people. It is a 10 tea bags of Yorkshire Black Tea by Taylors of Harrogate for $1. So you get a sealed pack with ten of them inside.

You can buy up to 30 of them for one order. This is fairly small, only occupies 0.2% of a standard box. The usual caution applies, if you buy chemicals and other things that may spill or roll and crash, you may want to split orders between fragile and non-fragile items. You don’t want to receive your tea as a pancake 🙂

Prime Pantry Credit returns to Amazon Shopping Cart Slow Shipping Options

IF you are an Amazon Prime member, and you make a purchase, and you are willing to take the slow shipping option (instead of the 2-day shipping), you may get a $6 Prime Pantry credit instead of the usual $1 eBooks/digital-content credit. This appears in the shopping cart automatically. It partially depends on the items and the price in your shopping cart, so you may not get it. It may or may not be targeted.

Discounts up to 20% at the Prime Pantry Holiday Store

Amazon has dozens of different shopping services. One of them is Prime Pantry, their semi-strange attempt at simulating a Costco-type of a shopping experience online. And now, just in time for the holidays, they have a sale of up to 20% off on on Holiday items at their Pantry Store. As the name suggests, Prime Pantry is only available to Prime members but it has a $6 flat shipping fee for all items that can fit into the single delivery box (the website shows percentages as you add items).

If you previously selected slow-shipping for regular Amazon orders, you may have Prime Pantry credits stored in your account (I don’t recall when those expire). Those were $5 credits, so you would sort of be getting free shipping. I guess the best way to find out is to add items to your shopping cart and see your final order total (before the last step that finalizes the order).

Free PrimePantry Shipping with purchase of 4+ qualifying items (choice from 100+ options)

In addition to the previously mentioned coupon and order credit offers, Amazon has yet another Prime Pantry offer. This one gets you free shipping when you purchase four or more of these items. Shipping is typically $6 flat per box. This is a fairly flexible offer, there are probably close to 200 different items eligible for the promotion (I am guestimating based on the rows of widgets over there). It includes a variety of consumables and household good that should make it easy to find four items that are useful enough and at a reasonable price to trigger the free shipping.

Speaking of which, separately, they have a number of coupons that are specifically designed for Prime Pantry products. Again, because Amazon is trying to make a push for this relatively new service, you may get better discounts than usual.

PrimePantry: $10 off $75+ coupon {also (YMMV) $5 slow shipping credit w/regular Amazon orders}

As Amazon continues to make a push for their Prime Pantry service, so is the continuous rollout of Prime Pantry offers. First up, if you are a Prime member and place a regular Amazon order, your shopping cart may offer you a $5 future order discount on Prime Pantry if you select the slow shipping method. I don’t know how the shopping cart decides who and when to offer this. You may also get the usual digital content $1 (more common) or $2 (less common) offers. You can only use one $5 Prime Pantry credit per offer.

Keep in mind, Prime Pantry has a $6 flat shipping per Prime Pantry box (whether it’s full or not).

Next up, a straight up coupon discount for Prime Pantry orders. Code PANTRY10 gets you $10 off an order of $75+. The coupon offer expires 8/16/15. Here’s a screenshot of the offer:

Prime benefit (YMMV): $5 Prime Pantry credit IF you select Slow shipping

If you are an Amazon Prime member, and you place a regular order at Amazon, and you are willing to select the slow shipping (they call it No-Rush shipping), the shopping cart may offer you a $5 Prime Pantry store credit. This varies depending on what you have in your cart or the total amount of purchase, I’m not sure what all the factors are. If the shopping cart deems you eligible for this offer, you will see something like this:

prime_pantry_credit

Prime Pantry has a $6 flat shipping per pantry box, so with this offer, you would effectively be paying just $1. The pantry box is fixed size and it shows you a percentage full as you add items. You can only use one $5 credit per order.

This credit must be used by October 15 (2015). These are the terms of the offer.

$2 Flat Shipping with $50+ order Prime Pantry order

For a limited time only (they don’t specify the expiration date), coupon code BUYPANTRY gets you $2 flat shipping on orders of $50 of more at Amazon’s Prime Pantry. This is sort of like their Costco equivalent, not to be confused with AmazonFresh that sells fresh produce and fresh groceries. However, there is a big overlap in products that can be ordered between the two programs. It adds to the complexity but also offers the more bargain-oriented shoppers two different ways to get discounts 🙂 Prime Pantry only requires a Prime membership, not a Prime Fresh membership.

These are the Terms and Conditions of this limited time promotion.

If you are considering an order there, here are some potentially good deals to add to your order, especially if you are close to $50 but need a little boost to get to $2 shipping:

Free Prime Pantry shipping if you buy 4 items from list of 100+ options

If you are Prime member, want to try Amazon’s new Prime Pantry service, and need some spring cleaning type of household supplies, Amazon has a limited time offer, if you purchase four or more of the spring cleaning products shown on this page, you will receive a $6 off discount, which is what the Prime Pantry shipping fee is.

This is a limited time offer but they do not specify the expiration date, so YMMV…
