Lucky Rewards: FREE 15~oz Tostitos Salsa (claim by 9/8/15)

The Lucky Rewards program is kinda rewriting the rules on how to run a Rewards program. If you are a member, check your emails! Another freebie offer is ready for you to add to your card. You have to manually click through from the email to add it to the card, but that’s all the “work” needed. This came with today’s email. We even have a choice between the 15.5oz Chunky Salsa or the 15oz Salsa Con Queso. The offer expires 9/8/15, so be sure to redeem it by then!

The continuing stream of freebies is really the best part of their rewards program. The actual points are on the meh side of things, they are essentially 1%, and they expire fairly quickly, so these are probably more useful to big shoppers or people who buy all their groceries and supplies from Luckys.

Hot for Panera Rewards members (YMMV): Free Coffee Every Day in September 2015

If you have a Panera Rewards account (free to sign up for), check your account or the email you used to register for it. There is a promotion offered to some reward members that gets you FREE coffee every day in September 2015. That’s 30 free coffees if you go there everyday. I have no way of knowing how many Rewards members are eligible.

This is quite a power play from Panera. Instead of spending their marketing money on flashy (and annoying) TV and online ads, they are using them to get people into their stores and more importantly create a new habit. Because if you go to Panera in 30 days in a row for you free coffee, you will probably continue going after the promotion expires. Plus, once there, many people will not be able to resist the siren’s call of their many pastries, or perhaps they’ll feel guilty for the freebie and feel compelled to buy something else as well 🙂

Lucky Rewards: double points until 9/1/15

In a new e-mail sent earlier today to participating of the Lucky Rewards program, we learn that until 9/1/15, we earn double rewards points automatically. You don’t have to use your points on Toscana glassware. They are just using the double points as an opportunity to remind people about that promotion. Or if someone is close to getting them as rewards, the double points will get them there faster.

August 25-31 (Starbucks Rewards): Get 8 bonus stars with 3 specific purchases

If you are a Starbucks Rewards member, check your e-mails for a new offer, running August 25-31 in 2015. If you buy three specific products during this time period, you will earn 8 bonus stars (in addition to the regularly earned stars). The three items you must purchase one of each of the items below (purchase during the promotion, not necessary purchased together at the same time):

  • shaken iced tea (includes the new mango flavored ones)
  • breakfast sandwich – not to be confused with the lunch sandwiches
  • frappucino blended drink

The size of the drinks does not matter. You can only earn 8 bonus stars during this promotion. Make sure you received the email for the offer, since I don’t know if these are sent to everyone or targeted or regional. The usual terms apply (pay with the app or a registered Starbucks gift card, etc, etc, etc).

Reward Redemption Sale: 10% off select merchant Gift Cards (AMEX Membership Rewards)

If you are part of the American Express Membership Rewards program, and you have accumulated enough rewards points to be able to participate in this promotion, good until 8/31/15, you get 10% off in points needed to redeem rewards from select merchants, including the Staples, Pottery Barn and the GAP group of companies. Double ExtraBucks on online CVS purchases (exp 8/29/15)

If you are part of the CVS Rewards program (they call them ExtraBucks), until 8/29/15, they have a special promotion that gets you double the ExtraBucks rewards on orders placed on their website. The usual percentage is 2%. With this offer, they become 4%. In parallel, to encourage the online shopping and use of this promotion, they have coupon SAVE25 that gets you 25% off an order of $49 on more placed at their website.

Lucky Rewards Members: Free 1lb of Driscoll’s Strawberries (redeem by 8/18/15)

IF they give awards for Rewards programs, perhaps Lucky’s deserves to win one! We have yet another unconditional freebie offered to Rewards members. Check your emails! You must click on the big round link to add the offer to your Lucky’s account. This offer gets you 1 lb of Driscoll’s strawberries! Once you add the offer to your rewards account, you have until 8/18/15 to redeem it, but don’t wait until the last minute, because we humans specialize in procrastination and you don’t want them to be out 🙂

The other nice thing is that their checkout registers (cashier or self-checkout) automatically picks off the free offers in your account – you don’t have to enter any coupons and neither does the cashier. So as long as you get the correct freebie, it works frictionlessly.

Starbucks has sent out an email with yet another offer for its Rewards members. This promotion runs between August 4-10 in 2015 and you can use it as many time as you like. For every transaction of $10 or more, you will earn 4 bonus stars (in addition to the standard star). The $10+ amount has to be on a single transaction, not over time. So in the next few days, a lot of coworkers will be “volunteering” to make a Starbucks run 🙂 You have to be targeted for this offer, check your email or Starbucks app to see if it is there. Aug 2-8: Earn 500 Plenti points with $25 Google Play Gift Card [essentially 20% off!]

Unlike iTunes Gift Cards, so far, Google Play gift cards are rarely discounted (which is quite the contrast considering Apple vs Google practices, but that’s another story for another day). Which brings us to this offer for Rite Aid Plenti rewards members. For the week of August 2-8 in 2015, at their brick and mortar stores, you earn 500 Plenti points if you purchase a $25 Google Play Gift Card. Since 500 Plenti points translate to $5 in future reward redemptions, if you shop at Rite Aid (or other Plenti places) often, this is essentially a 20% off discount. This is a limit two promotion for the week.

You can use the Google Play gift card to buy almost everything at Google Play (music, apps, ebooks, movies, TV shows) but you cannot use it to purchase hardware or subscriptions (eg their All Access Music service) – they have to be paid with “real money”.

PS #1: they also have the same promotion for Aeropostale, American Eagle and Hollister gift cards.

Potential money maker after rewards (B&M): 5pk of Staples Copy paper

Good until the close of business on Saturday August 1st (in 2015) at Staples brick and mortar stores, there is the possibility of a money-maker deal when you combine the trio of coupon, rebate and reward. During this promotional window, they offer a 5pk of Staples branded copy paper for $5 after an EasyRebate and a coupon. At the same time, they have a promotion that gets you 25% rewards on your total purchase. The rewards are given on the amount after the coupon but before the rebate.

Plenti now offers 7% back on Staples, Lenovo and HP web purchases

The Plenti Rewards program is trying to tempt shoppers to use its own website/links when making back to school online purchases. In a new update and email sent earlier today, they have increased the percentages of Plenty points at some popular retailers, including a whooping 7% when you shop at the Staples and HP and Lenovo websites. So if you buy a $1 item, you get 7 Plenti points. If you buy a $100 item, you get 700 Plenti points (= $7 in rewards).

NOTE: the discount is only when you shop at those websites, NOT if you buy HP or Lenovo items elsewhere.

These offers end August 11 in 2015.

Luckys Rewards members: Free 12-pack Sunny Select Soda

The Lucky grocery stores are upping the ante in reward member freebies! A new offer that just got sent by email gives you a 12-pack of Sunny Select Soda (the flavor of your choice) for FREE! You have to click from the email to add the freebie to your Luckys rewards account, and then you can claim it in the store. Offer expires 8/4/15, so don’t sleep on it! July 21-27 Starbucks Rewards: 25% off handcrafted espresso drink (once)

The Starbucks special promotions continue to roll out. If you are part of their Rewards program, check your emails or app inbox. This new promotion runs July 21-27 in 2015 and gets you 25% off the purchase of any hand-crafted espresso beverage. It is promo code 595 (you show it to the cashier when ordering). You can only use it once during this promotional period.

I don’t know if these offers are sent to everyone who has a Rewards account or they target them by activity or region or other categories. In this case it is easy to test it, the coupon will either work or will not work when you try it. But in general, to be on the safe side with these offers, make sure you see the offer in your email or Starbucks app!
