10pc Mind Reader Loose Leaf Tea Organizer for $25

It is no secret to regular readers of this blog that I have a tea problem. This is a solution for my tea problem, a 10-piece set of various tea accessories! It’s a Mind Reader tea organizer that includes:

  • six square tins/canisters for loose leaf tea (or anything else you want to put inside them)
  • one steel loose leaf infuser with a separate lid (this counts as two items)
  • one tea spoon (for picking tea leaves, not for stirring/drinking tea)
  • Two-story Tray, open up top with drawer at the bottom

You can use them all together as a set, or split them up for different uses in your kitchen or office. The last picture in the gallery over there shows general dimensions of the products.

It is currently on sale for $25 at Amazon by Amazon actual where it averages 4.5 out of 5 based on 31 customer reviews.

NOTE: some of the earlier reviews said that the products they received were slightly different from the pictures shown at the Amazon page, so check the customer reviews (they include pictures) to make sure you are okay with either option!

TIP: whenever you see empty canisters or containers that say “hold 4oz of tea”, keep in mind this is stupid. Tea varies in size and weight, you cannot measure an empty container’s volume by weight. An accurate way to give a measurement would be of something known, eg the container can hold 4 fluid ounces (a measurement of volume).

Free Shipping on All Orders with Coupon at Teavana (ends 2/25/16)

Hooray indeed! Coupon code HOORAY gets you FREE Shipping on any order, regardless of purchase amount at the Teavana website. Note that free shipping is fairly slow, the further away you are from New England, the slower it gets. The coupon is good until the end of day on 2/25/16.

A good place to start fishing for deals is their Sales page. Various sales items are featured there, some rotate in and out, others are clearance (on their way out). You can sort those options by Price using the “Sort By” options on the right part of the page (if you are on a desktop computer). Of practical interest, there are $3 tinsel tea tins, and $3.50 and $5 tea cups. Note that the $4 Oprah Chai Tea Tin is JUST the tin (it does not come with tea inside!).

TIP: If you are just getting started with loose-leaf tea, search for “Perfectea” there, it will bring up their infusers. They are simple and flexible enough for a beginner. They go for $20 (16oz) or you can get a Starter Kit for $27 (includes a Tea Tin and 1 lb of Rock Sugar).

6pk of 3x3x2″ Tins for $10 total (transparent top)

If you buy a lot of loose leaf tea, or you like to share your purchases with friends and vice versa, it’s a good idea to have extra tins for storage and sharing. Low cost so you won’t cry when you give them away, but still usable enough 🙂 Which brings us to this 6-pack of a 3×3 inch square tin going for $10 total at Amazon.com. The top is transparent, so you can see what’s inside. It is about two inches tall. It averages 4.4 out of 5 based on 130+ customer reviews. Again though, consider the price, you can’t expect miracles at $1.75 per tin! Limit thirty six-packs per customer.

NOTE: it holds about 8 oz by volume, not by weight. This is obvious when you think about it, because you can’t measure an empty space by weight. If you fill it with feathers, it will weigh a lot less than 8 oz. If you fill it with heavy metals, it will weigh a lot more than 8 oz.

TIP: if you are looking to get some tea so you can fill them up and hand them off to friends and family, here’s a good bang for the buck, 1 lb of Gunpowder Green Tea from Davidson Teas for $10 (or less if you do “Subscribe & Save”).
