20% off Tea at the Peet’s Coffee website with coupon

This is a bit of a tongue twister. Coupon code TEA20 gets you 20% off the purchase of all Teas at the Peet’s Coffee website 🙂 The discount applies to all the teas they offer online including tins, bags/pouches, and bulk purchases. This cannot be used in-store or for the purchase of subscriptions. Nowadays the Peet’s website has mostly Mighty Leaf branded teas but there are still some Peets-branded teas left. Offer ends at the end of day on Monday 7/4/16.

Teavana 4th of July coupon: $15 off $40+

While we are on the topic of tea, Teavana has a new coupon code for the 4th of July weekend. Coupon FIREWORKS gets you $15 off an order of $40+. Free shipping is available for orders of $50+. If you are looking for shopping ideas, here’s their new arrivals page. The coupon expires 7/4/16.

TIP: Teavana is now part of the Starbucks rewards program. You can use your Starbucks app to pay there and earn rewards. You can also redeem your Starbucks rewards for 1oz of loose leaf tea of your choice (one Starbucks Reward = 1oz of tea). This is only possible through their stores, not their website.

12 Boxes of 16-count YamaMotoYama Genmai-Cha TeaBags for $22

Genmai Cha is such a comfort tea to drink. It tastes a lot better than it sounds, a nice combination of toasted rice (yes, that’s right!) and green tea. And you can get a pretty good deal on it, you can get a dozen boxes of the Yamamotoyama brand. Each box has 16 tea bags, sealed in aluminum foil. So that’s 192 tea bags. It goes for $22~ at Amazon.com or slightly less if you do the subscribe and save.

This comes out to under $2 per box, a pretty good price, since the typical store price (if you can find it) is $3 per 16-pack. I am actually drinking this very tea as I am posting this 🙂

20% off Clip-On Coupon for select Numi Teas at Amazon

Once upon a time, buying grocery-type items at Amazon was simple. Now you have to navigate the insanity that is Amazon regular versus Prime Pantry versus Amazon Fresh. More irritating than that is that some items are exclusive to one of those “other things” (PrimePantry or Fresh) and you can’t buy them from the regular Amazon website. I am not talking about fresh fruit or frozen produce, but boxed products, like a box of tea!

Regardless, this post is not a rant, but a coupon. Fro a limited time Amazon has a clip-on coupon that gets you 20% off select Numi teas. Only some of the many options are eligible. The ones that are eligible for the coupon show this on their product pages, in the Price Box.

An example of an eligible item is this Chocolate Puerh, see the screenshot below of what to look for:

numi_clipon_amazon_coupon

To find other eligible items, search for your favorites or start from the Numi featured page or look at the coupon page which however is incomplete, it does not show all the eligible items for the coupon.

Two select Numi Teas for $7 [ends 6/14/16]

At Whole Foods brick and mortar stores, good until Sunday 6/14/16, many (but not all) of their Numi teas are on sale with essentially a two for one promotion. You pay $7 and get two boxes of Numi tea instead one. Many flavors are participating but not all. The Puerh and Turmeric variations did not have the promotional price on them. I forgot to price-check them at the register (and they are always busy). I do not know if you have to buy two of the same kind, or mix and match participating flavors. These are boxes of 16 to 18 tea bags each.

10pk Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Black Tea for $1 (Prime Pantry)

If you are planning to place a Prime Pantry order, here’s one little thing to add to your order, especially nice if you are creating gift or care packs for multiple people. It is a 10 tea bags of Yorkshire Black Tea by Taylors of Harrogate for $1. So you get a sealed pack with ten of them inside.

You can buy up to 30 of them for one order. This is fairly small, only occupies 0.2% of a standard box. The usual caution applies, if you buy chemicals and other things that may spill or roll and crash, you may want to split orders between fragile and non-fragile items. You don’t want to receive your tea as a pancake 🙂

2oz Teavana English Breakfast Loose Leaf Tea for $5 (w/free S&H for Prime)

If you are a Prime member and you are non-flowery-tea Teavana-curious, $5 will get you delivered to your front door 2oz of Teavana English Breakfast Loose Leaf Tea.

Even though it’s $5, it is not (as of the time of writing, I don’t want to jinx it) an Add-On item, so as a Prime member, you get free 2-day shipping for it. You can buy up to 30 of these at this price. This tea averages 3.9 out of 5 based on 32 customer reviews over there.

3.53oz Twinings Prince Of Wales Black Loose Leaf for $5

It’s tea time! If you like to get started in loose leaf tea without having to do a time-consuming immersion, this is a pretty good deal at the moment, you can get 3.53oz of loose leaf Twinings Prince Of Wales tea, in a tea tin (which you can reuse later), for $5 at Amazon.com. This is a blend of Chinese black teas, which are typically milder than the Indian black tea blends found in the traditional English breakfast blends.

If you do “Subscribe and Save”, it drops by 5% or 15% depending on how many other S&S items you have at that particular shipment month.

The only catch with this is that it is an Add-On item, so you have to place an order of $25 or more, even if you are a Prime member, otherwise their system will simply not let you purchase it. Even if you want to pay shipping out of your own pocket, they will just refuse it. So if you don’t need anything else from Amazon right now, add it to your shopping list or “Save Later” or make a mental note.

How to Use The $10 Amazon K-Cup Sample Box Rebate [Nice Surprise: you can also use it on some Teas!]

Amazon continues to run a promotion on a K-Cup Sampler. You buy it for $10 and a week after your order ships, you receive a $10 credit to your Amazon account to use on future K-coffee purchases. We covered the purchasing part in last week’s post. In this post we cover how to use your $10 account credit (it’s $9.99 actually but it’s easier to type $10).

But that’s not all! After experimenting with the shopping cart I discovered that some other coffee items are also eligible when redeeming your account credit for this promotion ~ see the last section below for details!… UPDATE: this also works with K-Cups Teas!

The email confirmation arrives
Now it’s been a week after I placed the order, so, as promised, Amazon sent an email with the title “Benefit Confirmation for your Order” that notifies that a $9.99 credit has been applied to my Amazon.com account. You don’t have to do anything, it’s automatically activated on your account. You can’t see it anywhere on the Amazon website, unless you put an eligible item in your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. Then you will a $9.99 discount.

Surprise Teavana coupon: $15 off $50

The Teavana website launched a surprise coupon, you get $15 off an order of $50 or higher when you enter coupon NOSHADOW over there. You also get free shipping with orders over $50 but I don’t know if that is before or after coupon. If you are going to be in the $50+ range, coupon code DELIGHT gets you a chai sample. The offer ends 2/4/16 at 3am eastern time.

EXCLUSIONS: you can’t use the coupon on Sale items, you can’t use it on Breville branded items, and you can’t use it on subscriptions.

CAUTION: in preparation for Valentine’s, their website is using a blinding magenta and red color scheme. If you are reading at a big screen, prepare for magenta immersion 🙂

Free Shipping at Teavana with coupon (ends 1/25/16)

The holidays are over, January is clearance month, and as such, Teavana wants to encourage more sales, they have now launched coupon code REVUP that gets you free (slow) shipping on all orders, no minimum purchase amount required. The coupon is good until the end of day on Monday 1/25/16.

teavana_Free_shipping_coupon

IF you are already have favorite items, you know where to find them, otherwise, a good place to start is to check their permanent sales page. You can sort the options by high or low price if you want to quickly check. Among them, as of the time of writing, they have three different tea tins for $3 each.

TIP: when reading about tea tins, keep in mind, that the number you see is volume, not weight. That’s because weight varies from tea to tea. Some teas are featherweight, others much heavier. Volume on the other hand, is the same regardless. So an 8oz tea tin will hold 8oz of water. How much tea, it depends on how fluffy/heavy it is.

TIP #2: please do not pronounce it tea-a-vana. It’s really annoying. The name is Tea-Vana, as in Tea-NirVana 🙂

[DEAD] Teavana 16oz Perfectea Maker for $14 [updated]

UPDATE 1/21/16: this made a brief appearance earlier in the week, but it is sold out again… I procrastinated getting it and missed out 🙁 I will let you know if it re-appears since they have a free shipping coupon good until 1/25/16 PM.

2 oz of Teavana Qi’Lan Fireside Oolong Tea for $2.50 with free shipping

If you like to try out new loose-leaf teas without breaking the bank, this is as close to a free online sample as it can get realistically. Teavana is offering 2oz of their Qi’Lan Fireside Oolong Tea for $2.50. You can buy it in multiples of 2oz or get 1lb for $20. Their website has free standard shipping on all orders until 12/23/15. This tea averages 4.8 out of 5 based on eight customer reviews. And this is just tea leaves, no other ingredients.

Steeping instructions are included on the above page. Their recommendation is 3-5 steeps, so this is quite the bang for the buck tea considering the price, and the fact that this is actual real tea leaves, not a blend of tea leaves and various fruits and vegetables and spices [meow!] 🙂 So if you are a tea purist, this is a hot deal!

teavana_oolong_sale

As you can see from the screen-shot above, this is part of their Sales promotions, which includes a few other teas that go for under $5 per 2oz, and those are flavored/desserty teas.
