This appeared in the Starbucks app, so I don’t know for certain that the same dates apply to every Starbucks Rewards member, but running between June 20-26 in 2016, you get Double Rewards Stars on every purchase made at Starbucks. There’s no coupon to enter, no opt-in, no action to take. This happens automatically.
You see this in your Starbucks app Home Screen or Messages section:
You can verify that you are earning double stars (which are 4 stars per dollar instead of 2 stars per dollar) if you look at your Transaction History (in the app or on their website) and you see the numbers be 4X instead of 2X:
STRATEGICALLY this is a great time to make all your expensive purchases, coffee beans, coffee mugs, equipment (eg Verismo machines), tea, fancy drinks, buy other people drink, volunteer to make a coffee run as long as they pay you, etc 🙂
Double stars means that you only need to spend $31.25 to get a free Reward. Assuming you redeem your reward for a $6+ item (or a 1oz of expensive loose leaf tea at Teavana), this is a 20%+ reward on your purchase amount.
