What’s better than a free e-book? A DRM-free free ebook 🙂 Good until February 15 (2018) at 11:59pm eastern time, you can get the first book in the long “Wheel of Time” fantasy book series by Robert Jordan and his friends by simply giving your email to Tor. This is part of their recurring eBook Club. The offer is available to those in the US and Canada (those darned scattered book rights around the globe).
All you have to do is give them your email address, and you’ll be sent an email with the download link. You can download the ebook in ePUB or MOBI or both. They are both DRM-free. You can then send it to your Kindle or load it up to your favorite computer or laptop or tablet or other device that can read either ePUBs or MOBIs.
Book #1 is titled “The Eye of the World” and it is not a petite little thing. It’s over 750 pages long! And if you want to read along others, starting on February 20, the Tor blog is starting a read-along with a first time reader. So no spoilers, but as usual, be careful in the comments because people who read it can leak spoilers (even if they don’t intend to).
I haven’t read any books in this series, and it is a long one, it has a total of 14 books in the series which can be a daunting task. Robert Jordan passed away before he could complete it, so another fantasy author (Brandon Sanderson) picked up the baton using the author’s notes and his own imagination.
