If you are looking for replacement water filters for Brita or Amazon’s own AmazonBasics pitcher, you are in luck, because as of the time of writing, Amazon actual is offering their own 3pk of AmazonBasics Water Filters for $9, that’s $3.33 per replacement filter. You can buy as many as you like. This is not a subscribe and save, but normal Amazon purchase.

This is product name B06XYGW6DB, since Amazon doesn’t give them actual model names. Check the listing for compatibility and usage info. These have 179 customer reviews with an average of 3.6 out of 5, and they also have 17 answered questions.

Based on this price, the 3pk is actually a better deal than the 6pk and the 10pk. However, the 3-pack is an ADD-ON product, so you MUST place an Amazon order of $25 or more. If not, the shopping cart will refuse to let you buy them no matter what. It’s a stubborn shopping cart 🙂

You get GOLD! Well, sort of! If you are a Lucky’s Rewards member, logon to your Lucky rewards account before the end of day on Sunday 12/24/17 and look under the offers. One of them is a FREE 1.4 ounce bar of the brand new Hershey’s Gold chocolate bar. Add the offer to your account, and then visit a local Lucky’s store and get it for FREE! You have to get it by the close of business on Sunday 12/24/17.

You have to enter your reward number (phone number typically) or scan your rewards card at checkout, so their computer will recognize the offer and make it a freebie. Note that Sunday is Christmas Even, so depending on when you go and how busy it is, the lines may be long, so keep that in mind if you are planning to go out of your way to go there just for the free chocolate bar 🙂

Chase Q1 2018 5% Cashback Rewards are Epic!

Chase is taking their 5% cashback bonus categories for the first quarter of 2018 to the next level! Not only you have specific 5% earning product categories (gas stations, internet, cable, and phone services) BUT you will also earn 5% on purchases made with the three major mobile wallets, along with Chase’s own ChasePAY. That’s right, all Android PAY, Apple PAY, and Samsung PAY purchases get you 5%!

The limit is the same as always, up to $1500 for the quarter will earn 5%. Everything after that will earn at the standard 1% cashback. The limit is per card, so if you have multiple Chase cards, make sure you activate the offers on all of them, and plan your purchase so you can max out each one of them!

It’s certainly not hard to get $1500 just with gas and internet and phone and cable for a household, the way prices are going up on all of them! But if you have additional cards, or you are still under $1500, then the four mobile wallets will certainly get you to $1500+!

Since nowadays most major chain stores accept one of those mobile payment methods, just about everything, from groceries to drugstore purchases can get you that 5%! And Chase’s 5% can be converted straight up (1 point = 1 cent) to cash or statement credit. It’s not like the AMEX Membership Points that you get less than that.

PS: further strategizing, if you have a Discover credit card, their Q1 2018 5% cashback rewards include gas stations, so you could off-load your gas purchases to Discover, and use your Chase for everything else.

Activate your Discover Q1 2018 5% Cashback Rewards!

Time sure does fly! It’s time once again to activate your Discover credit card quarterly rewards for the first quarter of 2018, which runs from January 1st until March 31st in the year. There are two main categories for this quarter, Gas Stations (not superstore or supermarket ones) and Wholesale Clubs.

You can activate this from the Discover email announcing it (without the need to login), or you can login to the Discover website or app and activate them at the appropriate place.

The limit of $1500 is per card, so if you have multiple Discover credit cards, the limit for the 5% earnings is $1500 per individual (separate account) credit card.

Christmas Coupon: $10 off $100+ orders at Smart & Final

If you are a fan of Smart and Final, don’t throw away the weekly grocery ad circulars just yet! The front page of the Smart and Final circular has a circular-exclusive coupon that gets you $10 off on purchases of $100+ at your local Smart and Final store. The coupon works for five days, December 20-24 in 2017. The usual coupon exclusions apply (gift cards, alcohol, fluid dairy, etc).

You won’t find the coupon in the ads inside the stores, so you have to use the coupon from their ads found in the weekly mailbox circulars. That’s based on what the ad says. The offer has not gone live yet as of the time of writing (it is Tuesday night; the offer goes live on Wednesday morning).

This is a great deal if you have a car! If you refill your car at an Exxon-Mobil gas station and spend at least 1400 Plenti Points ($14 equivalent) to pay for your gas refill, you will earn 300 Plenti points back. You have until 12/31/17 to do this. FIRST though you must activate the offer in your Plenti account using their website or app.

This is an awesome offer, assuming you stay close to a $14 refill, eg $15, it’s like getting 20% back! If you don’t have enough points now, Rite Aid is running a lot of weekly gift card Plenti point promotions, so that’s an easy way to stock up on Plenti points. Starbucks for Life return until January 8 in 2018

The annual “Starbucks for Life” promotion is back as every holiday season, running at Starbucks until January 8 in 2018. You have to first manually accept the terms of the offer and connect it to your Starbucks account. This promotion gets you plays and rewards based on your purchases and various challenges you complete (eg, buy X items on Y days).

The big rewards are the “Starbucks for Life” rewards, but that’s only for a few people. More realistically, you can earn rewards and bonus stars. These are more attainable and practical rewards instead 🙂

It’s a new month, it’s December 2017, and one of the many things a new month brings is a new installment of the Kindle First program, a benefit for Prime members that allows them to pick one “kinda pre-release” e-book from a choice of six, and read it right away. All these six e-books will be officially released January 1st in 2018 for everyone. Non-Prime members can purchase one of the six for $2.
