Kindle First choices for January 2018 are here!

Happy New Year to one and all! 2018 is here and a new month means, among many other things, a reload of the free selections for Prime members through the Kindle First program, which is now rebranded as “Kindle First Reads”, because the new twist is that the pre-release e-books are also available for purchase as hardcovers before their ebook release. Confusing, I know 🙂

But as Prime members, we still get one of the six for FREE. The hardcovers are NOT free 🙂 As usual, you have until the end of the month to make a pick, so you can give them a few more days, so more customer reviews will get published. These can help you which decide book to pick, or which book(s) to avoid picking.

The options for January 2018 are:

  • “Not Perfect” by Elizabeth LaBan in Contemporary Fiction
  • “The Birdwoman’s Palate” by Laksmi Pamuntjiak (translated) in Literary fiction
  • “As Good as True” by Cherryl Reid in Historical Fiction
  • “Punishment” by Scott J. Holiday in Thrillers
  • “Twist of Faith” by Ellen J. Green in Mysteries
  • “Tips for Living” by Renee Shafranansky in Psychological fiction (this is NOT a Self-Help book)

Amazon is also linking at the bottom of the list to an archive of previously featured books. There are over 220 of them as of the time of writing. Most of them (if not all of them) end up in Kindle Unlimited, so that’s one way to read any that look interesting. You can sign up for Kindle Unlimited Netflix-style (month to month) if you are a voracious reader, and zoom through everything that looks promising.
