If you are part of the Starbucks Rewards program, they have another Bonus Stars promotion. If you purchase one of their lunch sandwiches or paninis, you will earn 3 Bonus Stars per purchase. You can use this promotion as many times as you like during the promotional period of November 20-24 in 2014. The promotion is activated automatically, you don’t have to opt-in (about half of the Starbucks Bonus Stars promotions require opt-in, so always pay attention to the terms of each email offer).
Strategically, if you optimize the Starbucks Rewards program, one star is about the equivalent of 50 cents. So this promotion is essentially a $1.50 discount on a sandwich of panini. These are in addition to the default one star you earn with purchase.
How do I calculate the 50c? You earn a free item of your choice with 12 earned stars. The most expensive items are around $6 at Starbucks, so if you use your Earned Reward towards the most expensive items, the math comes out to about 50 cents per star.
