This particular promotion expired, but Rite Aid has Plenti Gift Card promotions almost every week. Some of them are better than others ~ partially depending on which ones are your favorite stores 🙂
This is a good shopping week for cordcutters! The offers mentioned in this post expire at the close of brick and mortar business on Saturday 3/26/16. They are very good!
We start with Netflix. At CVS stores, if you purchase a $50+ Netflix gift card, you receive $10 CVS Extrabucks. Netflix has a variable load ($15 to $100) gift card. You put $50 on it, and use your CVS Rewards card, and their cash register will print a $10 CVS ExtraBucks coupon for you to use in future purchases. This is not a discount but a store credit of sorts. The ExtraBucks expire about 4-5 weeks after they are issued so you have plenty of time to use them. Limit one per customer.
This promotion works with existing Netflix customers too ~ I’m doing this strategy ~ whenever there’s a special on a Netflix gift card, I load it up on my account. If I run out of gift cards, then Netflix automatically charges your payment method on file. Rite Aid has some occasional Netflix gift card specials as well! Cordcutter power!
Rite Aid Plenti Offers too
If you are a member of the AMEX Plenti Rewards program (see our introductory post on it), Rite Aid stores have some multi-platform promotions. The offer is the same regardless of the gift card mentioned below, you buy $30 or more and receive 600 Plenti points. 600 Plenti points are the equivalent of $6. That is a 20% back on the purchase price, assuming you purchase exactly $30 per card.
The gift cards participating in this round are Google Play (they sell TV shows, movies, movie rentals), iTunes (likewise) and XBox for those in the Xbox world. The promotion is limit two per card.
