Back to back gift card promotions at Staples stores. Ending on Saturday 3/19/16 is the VISA promotion, but starting right after it on Sunday 3/20/16 (and good until 3/26/16) is a Mastercard promotion. The terms are similar, buy $300+ in Mastercard Gift Cards, and receive a $20 Staples Gift Card via Easy Rebate (you can submit it online, you don’t have to do a mail-in rebate!).
Strategically this makes sense if you can get to $300 with two or one gift cards. Otherwise the activation fee is too close to the $20 Gift Card, which kinda defeats the money-maker appeal of such an offer.
