Buy 4 Makita 18V LXT bare tools, Get FREE Battery 2-pack

It’s tool time at Amazon. The latest Makita promotion that went live over there is like this: you buy four Makita 18V LXT bare tools (from a list of eligible products), and you get a free battery twin-pack. You have to add the tools and the battery pack to your shopping cart, and while this promotion is running (ends 3/31/17), the price of the battery pack will be automatically deducted from your order total when you reach the “Checkout page” (that’s the last page before the order is placed). All items in the order MUST BE sold and shipped by Amazon actual. These are the Eligible Products

T-Mobile Tuesdays for 2/7/17 takes a Valentine’s theme

It’s a Valentine’s theme for Tuesday February 7, 2017 offers for current T-Mobile customers. It is a trio of offers, all three of them coupons really. The centerpiece is $15 off and free shipping at 1-800-Flowers. Then, the date continue with a $25 off coupon at restaurant.com (mostly useless), and a $2 movie-theater ticket through the Fandango proper service (not to be confused with their TV/movie FandangoNOW service which is M-Go rebranded).

Overall, a rather meh Tuesday – in my opinion that is 🙂

$20 off order of $100+ in Bosch Woodworking Tools

If you are a fan of Bosch woodworking tools, or the craft in general, good news, Amazon is running a promotion until 3/31/17, if you purchase $100 or more from a list of eligible woodworking tools, the shopping cart will automatically give you a $20 discount at the top right side of the Checkout page. There’s no coupon code to enter. The offer is only good for new condition products where Amazon actual (not marketplace sellers) are the actual sellers of record.

A total of 40 products are currently eligible for this promotion, with prices ranging from $19 to $380. You can get to $100+ with any combination, be it one item or a combination of items.

Google Play Gift Cards Plenti promotion returns

Good news if you are a fan of Google Play and are participating in the Plenti rewards program! The gift card offer returns for the shopping week of January 29 until the end of day on Saturday February 4 in 2017. It is the usual terms, you purchase a $25 Google Play gift card at Rite Aid B&M stores, and receive 500 Plenti points, which are worth $5 towards future purchases (at Rite Aid or Exxon-Mobil or Macy’s or other participating retailers). The 500 points will show up in your Plenti account the next morning, so it’s quick and you don’t have to lift a finger to get your reward. Doing the math, this is a 20% virtual discount.

As before, the promotion is limit two per Plenti rewards member for this promotional period. Unlike iTunes gift cards that get discounted often, Google Play is not as often, so these are perhaps the best deals of them (as long as you are a Plenti member or you don’t object to joining in).

20% off GAP gift cards (Staples 1/29 to 2/4/17)

For the shopping week of Sunday January 29, until the close of business on Saturday February 4 in 2017, you can get 20% off on GAP gift cards at Staples brick and mortar stores. GAP gift cards can be used at their family of companies (including Banana Republic and Old Navy). The sale is automatic at the register, you don’t need a coupon, you don’t need a rebate!

Plenti offer: 20X points at Macy’s (must activate first)

If you are a fan of shopping at Macy’s and you are participating in the Plenti rewards program, there’s a new promotion that should be available in your account to activate (this offer must be manually activated before you earn the bonus). With this offer, you earn 20X points, which is 20% back, since 1 Plenti point is 1 real-world penny!

As you can see in the screenshot above, this offer runs until 2/2/17, but fear not, Macy’s is one of the cornerstone partners in Plenti (and “friends” of AMEX), so they’ll keep rolling out offers as time goes by.

100pk of black and blue AmazonBasics stick pens for $5.50

If you go through pens, or want to help a local school or non-profit or church or any other places that has a front desk or place that require analog form filling, there is a pretty good bang for the buck on AmazonBasics branded pens (yes, Amazon is expanding their budget house brand to all kinds of different products). This 100-pack of ballpoint stick pens is currently on sale for $5.49. The box is a mix of black and blue ink pens. You can see how much ink is left in them.

These are part of the Add-ON program, so you must place a $25+ order if you want to buy them regardless. You can get to that with five 100-packs or any other combination of products that are sold or fulfilled by Amazon actual.

New twist on T-Mobile Tuesday: you can send some offers to a friend

T-Mobile is launching a new twist with some of the “Tuesday” offers. Two of the offers in the Tuesday 1/24/17 group are not only good for you, but you can also send them to a friend. You still get yours, regardless of whether you send to a friend or not. The two offers that have this feature are the FandangoNOW movie rental (rent one movie up to $5), and a 25c discount per gallon on a Shell gas station fill-up (this is really a coupon, not a freebie).

The other offer that is running (and cannot be sent to a friend) is a $15 off discount on a Lyft ride. With Uber getting more customer and mindshare and almost becoming a verb, Lyft has to find other ways to get more people in the door (so to speak). One thing that works well for challengers to the #1 is letting people try your products or services for free or heavily discounted. Hence this 🙂

The gift cards mentioned are NOT freebies
When look at the website there, you’ll see something about gift cards. These are NOT freebies. The gift cards ar part of the prizes. To win prizes, you have to punch that magenta wall. You get one punch per line, not per customer. You have to be logged on to that particular line per punch. Most of the time you “win” the freebies but some people (presumably) win some of the prizes. So the following $5 and $10 gift cards are not freebies for all, but only prizes!

As you can see in the screenshot below, the freebies have that magenta gift next to their name. The gift cards are prizes, there is no magenta gift logo next to them:

Staples Premier Rewards members: $10 off $10+ coupon in your account!

If you are a Staples Premier rewards member, check your account or your emails. Staples is running a coupon promotion that gets you $10 off a purchase of $10 or more! The usual exclusions apply for couponing. This is pretty good. The coupon looks like this and has a unique coupon number (I did not include it for obvious reasons).

If you are not sure where it is, here’s how to find it:

1. logon to your Staples Rewards account
2. in the middle of the page, look for the “Redeemable Rewards and Coupons” section
3. under there, look for the “Available Coupons” section and click on “View coupon wallet”.
4. I have five in my account (I haven’t used any of them). This one is the bottom of the list
5. Print it or load it up on your phone and such
6. Happy shopping!

Mine has a February 4 (2017) expiration date, so be sure to factor that in!

T-Mobile Tuesday for 12/27/16: $2 Movie Ticket, Wendy’s Frosty, Lyft Ride

Last week was perhaps the best T-Mobile Tuesday of the year (perhaps they saved it for Christmas), but the Tuesday December 27 freebies are not bad either. You get the option to buy a $2 Movie Ticket, which is pretty good considering it’s double figures now for a movie ticket. They also have two returnees, the Wendy’s small Frosty, and a free Lyft ride (up to $15). With Uber being the dominant service, it makes sense for Lyft to be aggressive offering with free rides to get people to try/use their service.

Interestingly, earlier in the week, their teasers had a fourth option, a $10 Restaurant.com credit, but Restaurant.com is such a gimmick, I am actually happy it got pulled because it’s such a baloney service. Here’s a screenshot from before it got cancelled:

Prime Pantry: Buy $30+ in Qualifying Products, Get $5 off AND Free Shipping

Prime Pantry strikes again with another promotion! This is even better, because you get both a discount AND free shipping. And that’s without using any previous “slow shipping credits” you may have had. The promotion is similar in style as before. You have to buy $30+ in products participating in the promotion. The number of products doesn’t matter as long as the total is $30. Then you will receive $5 off your order total amount, AND free shipping too! They have to fit in the “Pantry Box” as usual.

Only four product categories are participating in this promotion, so it may be more difficult to get to $30 if you don’t need a lot of different items. But you can buy up to ten units per individual product, so you could easily get to $30+ by buying more of your favorite items.

Paperback: “Slow Regard of Silent Things” for $5.27

The paperback edition of Patrick Rothfuss’s story “The Slow Regard of Silent Things” is now down to $5.27 at Amazon by Amazon actual. This is significantly less than the Kindle version, and if you are a Prime member, you get free shipping on the book even if you don’t buy anything else! This is not a lightning deal, so the price can fluctuate at any point in time.

SPOILER ALERT: this is a 176-page book, it is part of the Kingkiller Chronicle, and it is *SPOILER ALERT* the story of Auri. I haven’t read this book yet, but I just bought it 🙂

T-Mobile Tuesday haul for December 20 is pretty good

I have complained for some sub-par T-Mobile Tuesdays the last few weeks, but we have good news! There’s a pretty good haul planned for Tuesday December 20 in 2016! Four solid and tangible promotions! One of them is to be picked up at your local T-Mobile store, so be sure to map out locations and opening hours since supplies are limited. You get either a pair of touchscreen gloves or a beanie hat. I do not know if it is one per line or one per account. Time will tell when it goes live, and it may also be at the discretion of each individual store depending on their inventory.

The next offer you can get, a 6-inch Subway sandwich. Can’t argue with free food, starch and carbs and all 🙂

The other two offers are online, a $25 off discount at the Zappos website, and a $10 off discount on $20+ in purchases of Pepsi products at the Boxed website. These two are first time offers, so I do not know if the limit is per line or per account. This distinction is important if you have multiple lines per account 🙂

FREE 711 Big Gulp with first Amazon Locker Order pick-up

One flying under the radar Amazon feature is the Locker Delivery option. Instead of having the package delivered to your home or office address, you send it to an Amazon Locker location. This includes select 711 stores, and other places, like select Safeway stores. The participating stores install Amazon’s locker boxes. So you don’t have to worry about being at home to get the order, or worry about unattended packages getting stolen. With Amazon’s own delivery drives being green and confused and stressed out, this is a good way to prevent delivery confusion 🙂

Once sent there, you have three business days to pick them up, so be sure you are going to be in-town and it’s somewhere you can walk if your car is at the shop. And things of that nature.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, when you receive an Amazon email that your order was delivered to a local 711 store, you will also see a short paragraph with an offer, you get a FREE 711 Big Gulp with your first order picked up there. You click through the Amazon link which takes you to a 711 website, and you receive the coupon via SMS (the only option even if you open the email with a web browser on a desktop computer).

Lucky’s: Buy $50+ in select Gift Cards, Get $10 coupon to use in future purchases

Until December 27 in 2016, at Lucky’s grocery stores, they have two parallel promotions on gift card purchases. If you buy $50 or more of those gift cards, the cash register will print a $10 coupon that you can use on your next $10+ purchase at Lucky’s stores. You have to buy gift cards from the same group – it could be $50 in a single card or two of them or any combination that gets you to $50+.

NOTE that gift cards may have to be purchased with cash or a debit card, as more and more retailers shy away from purchases of gift cards with credit cards. It reduces the retailers’ risk, but you miss out on credit card rewards 🙁
