Plenti: 10X points at Macy’s (must activate)

A new promotion at the Plenti rewards program offers shoppers 10X points when shopping at Macy’s until 5/29/17. You must first activate this offer, which sounds more complicated than it is, you just press the green Activate button at the Plenti website or through the Plenti emails mentioning the offer.

Macy’s is one of the big partners of Plenti, and a long term “friend” of American Express which is managing the Plenti rewards program.

$50 Bonus Gift Card with Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller for $200

It’s a two-in-one bundle! If you buy the Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller (eight zone, second generation model) for its regular price of $200, for a limited time, Amazon will include in your package a $50 plastic Amazon Gift Card! You don’t have to enter any coupons or do anything else, just add the bundle to the shopping cart and proceed.

This is handy now with Dads and Grads gift giving season, having an extra $50 Gift Card around can be handy in case of “gifting emergencies”. You can buy as many bundles as you like!

I don’t know if this is a daily deal or an on-going offer. It’s hard to tell in the ever-sprawling and out of control Amazon Gold Box these days 🙂

Cordcutter Deal at CVS this week with Gift Cards

If you are a cordcutter, there’s a great deal this week at your local CVS stores! If you buy $50 in plastic gift cards from Netflix or GooglePLAY or Xbox/Microsoft, their cash register will print just for you $10 in Extra Bucks. When you do the math, this is a virtual 20% off discount! Limit one per customer. Offer ends Saturday night when the stores close (5/27/17).

Neither Netflix nor GooglePLAY gift cards get discounted on a regular basis, so this is a great opportunity to score a prepaid discount. Or you can hold on to the gift cards and give them out as gifts in case of emergency ~ Dads and Grads are upon us after all 🙂

Another opportunity: Once you get the $10 Extra Bucks, then you can go for the $20+ in P&G products promotion at CVS. If you spend that much (finding things you need and/or on sale) will get you a new $5 in Extra Bucks. So you can daisy-chain the two offers 🙂

May 21-27: Buy $300+ in VISA Gift Card, Get $20 Staples Gift Card via EasyRebate

This recurring promotion is coming back at Staples brick and mortar stores for the shopping week of May 21-27 in 2017. The terms are as before, if you buy $300 or more in prepaid VISA gift cards (in a single transaction), the cash register will spit out (or email if you have email-only receipts) an EasyRebate offer that will get you a $20 Staples Gift Card after a few weeks. EasyRebates can be submitted online using data from the cash register receipt. You don’t have to mail anything or make any photocopies. Very easy.

As usual, this is profitable if you can get to $300+ with two gift cards (or in very rare cases if you can find one). That’s because each card has an activation fee which eats up your $20 bonus.

This offer is particularly good if you have a credit card that gives you 5% cashback on office supplies, such as some of the Chase Ink cards.

Big 5 mailer coupon: $10 off $40+ (B&M only)

In the weekly mailers, those blue envelopes, you may find a BIG 5 coupon good for your local brick and mortar stores only, not their website. The coupon I found in mine is a $10 off a $40+ order, and it expires 5/29/17. So before you recycle that envelope, fish for this coupon if you are a BIG 5 fan!

As usual, be sure to read the terms and conditions at the bottom of the coupon!

Zojirushi EC-YSC100 Coffee Machine for $76 after coupon

Pour-over fans, close your eyes 🙂 This is a fancy digital coffee maker but at a reasonable price, it is the Zojirushi EC-YSC100, currently going for $76 after you apply the $20 off Amazon clip-on coupon you see on the product page. The price of the coffee maker can change, because the coupon is a flat $20 off, the coupon does not fix the price.

The benefits of this thermal carafe brewer is that it has a detachable water reservoir, so you can fill it up and CLEAN it separately from the coffee maker. A thermal carafe is nice too, since the coffee will stay warn longer, handy for a long work or reading session or if you are entertaining friends and slowly drinking coffee along. You don’t want people in your book club to get overly coffee-hyped 🙂

It averages 4.2 out of 5 based on over 500 customer reviews and has over 100 questions peer-answered for this programmable coffee maker. Note however that it does NOT grind coffee beans.

As usual, this is a limited time offer, but a specific expiration time is not known ahead of time. Happy coffee drinking 🙂

UPDATE: but if you need a grinder to go with it, this Mr Coffee IDS77 programmable grinder is currently on sale for $12.38 (limit three per customer at the moment).

(Up to) $30 off select Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes and Heads

If you are on the electric toothbrush bandwagon, or if your dentist or hygienist recommended using one, as part of the Mother’s Day sales, Amazon has an up to $30 off coupon on select Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes. This includes a variety of models, including their “connected” (bluetooth) models, along with the non-connected ones. Also eligible for the promotion are brush heads, which are necessary, since they are still toothbrushes that wear out 🙂

The coupon is “up to $30 off”, meaning the more expensive models get $30 off, while lower priced models get a smaller discount. For example, this $35 model gets a $10 off discount.

If you haven’t used these type of toothbrushes before, they take a few weeks to get used to them. Don’t give up on them! They can provide brushing benefits that the human hand cannot compete with (eg rotating/vibrating the cleaning head non-stop).

These are clip-on coupons, all you have to do is click the green “Clip coupon” button individual product pages at Amazon. The coupons only work if Amazon actual is the seller. IF marketplace sellers offer these for sale, Amazon’s own clip-on coupons don’t work. But marketplace sellers may have their own coupons under the “Special offers and product promotions” section of a product page.

AMEX Offers: Spend $200+, Get $20 back on Car Rentals

If you have an American Express credit card, check the Offers section (below the activity summary page when you login to your account). There is a new offer that gets you $20 back as a statement credit if you spend $200+ at car rentals. These have to be booked directly with the car rental companies, not through agents/intermediaries. The good news is that three different companies are eligible for this, so you have more flexibility if you have particular preferences: Alamo, National, and the non Star Trek Enterprise 🙂

Make sure you pay attention to the deadlines. Also note that registration is limited, so if you are potentially interested, do the “Add to Card” thing to register the offer to your account. Registration may close before the offer expires. But once you register your card, you have until the expiration date to use it.

Buy $50 in Gift Cards, Get $10 off next purchase at Lucky’s

If you are near a Lucky’s store, and you like buying gift cards, they have a new promotion running until May 16 (2017) at their brick and mortar stores. If you buy $50 in participating gift cards, their cash register will spit out a coupon that gets you $10 off your next purchase at the Lucky’s B&M stores. You can buy up to $200 in gift cards per transaction.

Gift cards in this promotion are a mix of restaurants (Chilis, Applebees, Olive Garden, etC) along with major retailers (Sears, Kohls, Macy’s, GAP, etc).

First time Prime Pantry shoppers: 10% off First Order of 10+ items

If you are Prime Pantry curious (you haven’t placed an order with them before) AND you are a Prime member, Amazon is trying to tempt you some more to place your first “Prime Pantry Box” order with a coupon! Coupon code PANTRY10 gets you 10% off if your first order has 10 or more items in it. This is a good opportunity to stock up on consumables, be it food or kitchen or bathroom. You can find the promotion details at the coupon’s page.

You have to pay a $6 flat shipping fee for every Prime Pantry box you order, but there are two ways to make up for that:

  1. if you select slow-shipping on some regular Prime orders, Amazon may give you a $5 Prime Pantry credit. You can easily check if you have one in your account by visiting amazon.com/norushcredits. That page also shows the expiration date of each credit, so plan ahead!
  2. you can get free shipping outright if you buy five or more items from the list of qualifying products. Any combination works, five of the same item, or five individual items, or any other combination as long as the total eligible units in your shopping cart are five or more

Plenti Rewards: 10X at Macy’s

If you are participating in the Plenti Rewards program (administrated by none other than American Express), and you are fond of shopping at Macy’s, a new offer running there offers you 10X in Plenti points for purchases made at Macy’s. Once you activate the offer (hit the green button in the email or their website or app), you will begin earning the bonus points. This offer expires April 23 (2017), but they have new Macy’s offers every few days…

40% off first order at Swap with coupon

Good until the end of April 2017, if you have NEVER shopped at Swap.com before, you can use coupon code 1STTIMESWAP40 to get 40% off your purchase at the Swap.com website. As usual, some exclusions and limitations apply. Swap offers very reasonably priced clothing items and accessories in USED condition. Thus the name Swap 🙂 A good way to both save your wallet and save the planet by reusing before recycling or buying new.

YMMV 10% back statement credit on AT&T Universal Credit Card

This is a YMMV promotion as it may be targeted. I haven’t been using my AT&T Universal Credit Card (by Citibank) much lately, so maybe that’s why their computer sent me this offer. If you are offered this, AND manually activate it (click on the link in their emails), you will get 10% back as a Statement Credit (not those dinky Thank You points) almost everywhere you use the card. This is not restricted to specific product pages.

The downside though is that this is a maximum $25 statement credit through this promotion, which means the maximum spending with the bonus earnings is just over $250. They only count the difference between your standard rewards and the bonus towards the $25, so if a purchase is eligible for 1%, only the 9% earned will count towards the $25. So it’s about $275~ or so. I can’t do the math in my head this early in the day 🙂

You have until May 31st in 2017 to activate this promotion [if you had been offered it]…

AMEX Offers: Spend $250+ at Hugo BOSS, Get $50 Statement Credit

If you are a fan of the Hugo Boss brand (and stores), check your AMEX offers to see if you have been offered this promotion. You login to your account, and below the account summary, the various AMEX offers are presented in an ever-scrolling fashion. One of them is this, screenshot of which below:

If you spend $250 or more, in a combination of purchases at their website and brick and mortar stores, you will receive a $50 statement credit on your AMEX account. One use per customer. The offer runs until 5/11/17. You must first claim it (“Add to Card”) before you can earn the bonus.

It appears to be offered on both AMEX Blue and Membership Rewards cards. YMMV as always with the AMEX offers.

Oster FPSTFP1355 2-Speed 10-Cup Food Processor for $36

Eating is good for you, or so they say 🙂 The new condition Oster FPSTFP1355 2-Speed 10-Cup Food Processor is currently on sale for $36 with free shipping for all at amazon.com, thanks to the return of the $35+ minimum for free shipping for non-Prime members.

This 500W food processor averages 3.9 out of 5 based on over 260 customer reviews, and has over 50 questions answered, so if you are curious about it, check both places, and/or use the search-boxes for each one. They are kinda buried further down the website, but if you slow down, take a deep breath and use a desktop browser, you’ll eventually find them in the chaos and disorder that is an Amazon product page these days 🙂
