Make $15+ qualifying Chili’s purchase, Get 20% in Plenti points

If you are participating in the Plenti rewards program, check your account or your Plenti emails! There is a new promotion for Chili’s restaurants that gets you 20% back in Plenti points on a qualifying purchase of $15+. It is important to understand what qualifies and what doesn’t. If you are not familiar, check the details in the promotion over there. For example, tips and alcoholic beverages are NOT eligible.

You must manually activate this offer. Plenti has two kinds of offers: some are Automatic, so you don’t have to manually activate it, you just buy whatever is eligible. Others, like this one, must be activated first. Activation sounds more complicated than it is, you just click the green button as outlined in the screenshot below.

Strategically this is a good idea if you own someone lunch or dinner. You take them there and pay for it, and secretly earn 20% back without anyone but you knowing 🙂

FREE French Baguette with Entree purchase

For March 21 in 2017, to celebrate International (?) French Bread Day, Le Boulanger brick and mortar restaurants will get you a FREE French Baguette IF you purchase an entree (most menu choices under $9), and show them the promotion on your mobile device from their emailing list. Pretty good if you were already planning to eat lunch out or get takeout 🙂

Get 750 Plenti points on $25+ Chilis purchase

American Express is leveraging some of the closer relationships with national retailers as part of the Plenti program they are running. One of the new promotions they have running is with the Chilis restaurant chain, maligned by foodies, but secretly loved by many 😉

You have to manually activate this offer in your Plenti account. After you do that, a purchase of $25 or more at Chilis gets you 750 Plenti points. That’s $7.50 to spend in the future through the Plenti rewards program (Rite Aid, Exxon-Mobil gas stations, Macy’s, etc).

If you haven’t done an offer like this before, it is important to read the terms and conditions. The $25+ has to be on food items and non-alcoholic beverages only. Everything else on your bill (alcohol, sales tax, other fees, tips, gift cards) do not count towards the $25 limit!

Limit one redemption during this promotional period but they have recurring offers, so if you are a Chili regular, pay attention to the “Partner Offers” over there and check the deadlines and terms of each one.

Here’s a screenshot of the promotion for reference:

The Rewards Network finds the transactions
If you have a Plenti rewards account, you can sign up for the Local Dining Rewards feature by linking your credit or debit cards you plan to use to pay at restaurants. This is how they will recognize the transaction, you don’t show them your Plenti rewards award, so you don’t have to look like a couponizer 🙂

Chipotle January 26 offer: buy sofrita, get free item later

January 26 in 2015 is an important date to remember (deal wise) at participating Chipotle stores. If you purchase a Sofrita burrito on that date, you can get a free burrito of your choice at a later date by showing them your Jan-26 soffrita receipt. Sofritas are their soy-based meat substitute, and it is a bit on the spicy side, so you may want to add fresh salsa and cheese and cream to un-spice it (if you are not big on spicy).
