Refurbished HTC One M8 (unlocked, no contract) for $210

While the previously mentioned $100-ish prices for the HTC One M7 are tempting, if you want/need a microSD memory card, the M8 is a must, and it is among the latest eBay offers! The Seller Refurbished 32GB One M8, factory unlocked with clean ESN, but functional despite scratches and scuffmarks, is offered for $210 with free shipping, in the gray color scheme (the others sold out), by eBay seller “GuaranteeCellular” (98.7%). Limit five per customer. Nearly 1400 units sold from this so far.

As always, keep in mind that seller refurbished is a higher risk than manufacturer refurbished, so if you are a risk averse type of shopper, keep that in mind! No contract, this is a GSM phone.

$2 mp3-album: “Awake” by Tycho

The latest featured mp3-album of the week (a limited time offer) at Google Play is the fourth album by the artist currently known as Tycho, it is his 8-track album “Awake” offered for $2. It runs just under 37 minutes long. The Deluxe version is not on sale, but each of the four extra tracks goes for 99c, so if you fall in love with it and want those too, it will only be +$4 versus buying it for $$11.50.

New round of 99c movie rentals at Google Play

The Google Play store has a new selection of 99c movie rentals. Some of them can be rented in HD for 99c, some in SD only. You can check on each individual movie’s page. Check reviews and previews as the quality of these is all over the place. And needless to say, the perception of quality varies from person to person 🙂

If you have Netflix or Amazon Prime, check there before renting them out. For example, the Dalai Lama documentary is available via Prime.

They have both loose leaf and tea bag options. Some teas have both, but most of them are either one or the other. Their website not only carries tea tins, but there you can also buy some of their teas in bulk bags of either 1/2 lb or 1 lb.

Some of their teas are carried at some grocery stores and specialty retailers. It is likely that at some point (if they haven’t done already) those retailers too will put them on sale. Typically you’ll find tea bags there.

Treat Receipt returns at Starbucks on July 27

It must be summertime because the Treat Receipt is back at Starbucks! During this incarnation, if you present a receipt from earlier in the day, after 2pm local time, you can get any grande cold drink for $2.50. The promotion runs July 27 until August 9 for everyone (you don’t have to be a Rewards member for this offer). But Rewards members get an extra week, for them, the offer expires August 16 in 2015 instead.

If you haven’t done this before, it’s fairly simple. You get your Starbucks receipt before 2pm (any purchase qualifies, big or small). Then visit again during the same day after 2pm, show them the before-2pm-receipt, and get any grande cold drink for $2.50. Considering how expensive some of their drinks are, this can easily be 50% or even less the standard price.

TIP: you can visit at 1:30pm, get something, get the treat receipt, and after 2pm, get a $2.05 cold grande beverage. So if you don’t have to technically visit twice, just buy something before and after 2pm. Because of lines and clock differences, don’t wait until 1:55pm to do this 🙂

Refurbished HTC One M7 (former Verizon, GSM unlocked) for $100

How low can you go? How about $100? That’s what it takes to get you the seller-refurbished 32GB HTC One M7. This was a Verizon phone that its GSM component has been unlocked for any GSM carrier. The listing says clean ESN and already over 300 units got sold from this particular offer. Limit five per buyer with the silver color being the only one offered. Big Game Sale at Google Play (ends 7/27/15)

If you want to score some popular Android games for less, there is a big sale good until 7/27/15 at Google Play. The amounts are fairly small, so you may want to buy a gift card or prefill your account with store credit if you don’t want your credit card blasted with multiple $0.60 transactions (if you go on an app shopping spree).

The list includes Monument Valley (99c), Game Of Thrones (Telltale, 60c), Room Two (69c), NBA Jam, Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto, the all important Goat Simulator, and more. A total of 23 games are part of the sale. You can buy as many as you like.

Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5 (unlocked, former AT&T) for $250 [no contract]

This has not turned into a Galaxy blog, it’s just that there are many specials today. The latest one is the manufacturer refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5, model SM-G900A, a former AT&T model, but sold unlocked, for $250 with free shipping, in either black or white (the gold and blue sold out) by eBay seller “QualityCellz” (99.2%). This works with any compatible GSM carrier, not just AT&T. The seller offers 14-day returns plus the Samsung warranty on the refurb. This is NO CONTRACT! You own it. Tempting indeed…

… especially when you consider that the Galaxy S6 took away the microSD slot and the removable battery, assuming of course you value those features a lot. As of the time of writing, over 600 units were sold from this particular eBay offering. If I had a $250 eBay Gift Card, I would be next 🙂
