Everyday Deal: 3lb Rotisserie Chicken for $6

Smart and Final has a great everyday price deal. You get a 3lb rotisserie chicken for $6 total. There’s only one flavor and it has some mild spices. This is a pretty good deal, because most grocery stores have rotisserie chickens under 2lbs (typically 30oz) that sell for $6 or more. So you are getting a 50%+ bigger chicken for less! There’s no coupon, no weekly ad to pay attention to, no rewards program to sign up for. Just roll in the store and buy it!

April 26 – May 2: 25% back in Staples Rewards

For the brick and mortar shopping week of Sunday April 26 open until the close of business on Saturday May 2nd in 2015, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get 25% back in Rewards on your purchases. Most items are eligible however, there are some exclusions (as is to be expected). The usual things are not eligible: Apple, Kindles, gift cards, phone cards, laptops/computers, tablets, Beats, Bose, Squaretrade, custom orders, and more. In other words, if you buy pens you are fine, but if you are buying big ticket low-margin items, they are probably not eligible. You must be a Staples Rewards member for this promotion.

Refurbished Motorola Moto X (2nd gen, AT&T Unlocked) for $250

With so many flagship and flagship-level smartphones getting refreshed annually, more and more good deals are surfacing. Case in point, among the latest eBay Deals, you can get the manufacturer refurbished Motorola Moto X (second generation, AT&T Unlocked) for $250 with free shipping, with a limit of five per customer. The seller of record is “qualitycellz” (99.1%).

This was an AT&T phone, but now it is an unlocked, GSM obviously phone. With “clean IMEI” per the eBay listing. Model XT1097.

OnePlus One phone available for “normal” purchase

If you want to get the OnePlus One “budget-flagship” smartphone, but don’t want to play waiting list and invites games, your wish has now come true! OnePlus announced on its blog that you can now purchase the device from anywhere in the world straight up, no waiting lists and such. Just like you would buy a DVD on Amazon. Prices start at $300 (16GB) with the 64GB going for $350. There is no 32GB model, a move that Apple copied later on with its latest iPads/iPhones. Details at their blog.

$0.99 T-Mobile SIM cards with coupon (ends 4/23/15)

Good until the end of day 4/23/15, you can get T-Mobile SIM cards for just 99 cents each when you use coupon code SIM99 at the T-Mobile website. No contracts! You can keep them around in case of emergency number porting. Do note however that SIM cards have expiration dates.

Movie Rental: Unbroken (HD) for 99 cents

The critically-acclaimed movie “Unbroken” is now available for rental in HD for 99 cents at a number of high profile digital movie rental streamers including Amazon Instant Video and Vudu (in what they call “HDX”) and M-Go.

If you have any store credits or promotional bonuses at any of those places, you can watch it for free. For example, if you are a Prime member and you chose slower shipping (instead of 2-day), you get a $1 credit added to your account that can be used on Video or MP3s or e-books.

Free Medium Drink with Mug or Tumbler purchase

Save the planet and get a free medium drink at Peet’s Coffee stores between April 22-24 in 2015. No coupon needed. Given how expensive some of the drinks are (eg the new Javivas or hot espresso-based drinks), it’s not a bad deal. From what I recall, their diner-style coffee mugs are around $6 or $7. A medium fancy drink is close to $5. They also have a variety of other tumblers but those go for more.

Since new smartphones are continuing to arrive at a fast pace, there are more and more previous models as bang for the buck deals. How far back you want to go and how much you want to pay is up to you to decide, but among the latest eBay Deals, you can get the seller-refurbished Motorola XT926, a Droid Razr for Verizon Wireless, offered for $85 with free shipping.

You get the phone and the charger and the eBay listing says this is “100% functional” but a B+ stock item in terms of cosmetic condition. No contract, so you own it right away, you don’t even have to sign up for a contract. Per the listing, it has a clear ESN for Verizon activation. This is seller refurbished, so there’s no manufacturer warranty, but you get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee by the seller “BiDallies” (98.4%).

As a refresher, this has 1GB RAM, 16GB on-board, 1280 x 720 SuperAMOLED, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon, 4.7-inch screen, upgradable to Android 4.1.

The Quickbooks Pro 2015 software is currently on sale for $170 at Amazon.com. You can either get the digital download available immediately or a traditional software disc delivered by mail. At this time, the prices are the same. You decide which one to buy using the small thumbnail pictures over there to switch between the two.

Starbucks Rewards: 4 Bonus Stars on Espresso Drinks (A21-27)

If you are a member of the Starbucks Rewards program, check your email or app in-box. There is a new promotion running April 21 to 27 in 2015 that gets you four bonus stars (in addition to the one regular star) when you purchase either a hot or iced hand-crafted (eg not bottled) espresso-based drinks. You can use this promotion as many times as you like during this time period. This happens automatically, there’s no opt-in, and no coupon code.

With a single Starbucks reward point worth up to 50 cents (eg if you redeem your free item for a $6 food or drink item), getting five stars total (four bonus plus one regular) for a drink it’s pretty good.
