Starbucks Rewards: 4 Bonus Stars on Espresso Drinks (A21-27)

If you are a member of the Starbucks Rewards program, check your email or app in-box. There is a new promotion running April 21 to 27 in 2015 that gets you four bonus stars (in addition to the one regular star) when you purchase either a hot or iced hand-crafted (eg not bottled) espresso-based drinks. You can use this promotion as many times as you like during this time period. This happens automatically, there’s no opt-in, and no coupon code.

With a single Starbucks reward point worth up to 50 cents (eg if you redeem your free item for a $6 food or drink item), getting five stars total (four bonus plus one regular) for a drink it’s pretty good.

Pyrex Prepware Mixing Bowl sets for $12.50 to $15

If you are fond of Pyrex bowls, there’s a nice sale at Amazon, they are offering multiple Pyrex Prepware Mixing Bowl sets for reasonable prices. Some sets are without lid, while others come with a lid. When you see the “6pc” and “8pc” options, keep in mind, the lids count as pieces, so with the 6pc you are getting three mixing bowls, and with the 8pc you get four bowls.

The lowest price as the three mixing bowls without a lid for $12.50. The best bang for the buck is the 8pc set (four mixing bowls and four lids) for $15. The capacities are 1-quart, 1-1/2-quart, 2-1/2-quart, and 4-quart. The lids are color-coded, each bowl has its own color. The 3pc set does not include the bigger 4-quart bowl.

Season 1 of Game of Thrones Blu-Ray with Digital HD for $20

The Season 1 Blu-Ray set of Game Of Thrones that also comes with a Digital Copy in HD is currently on sale for $20 at amazon.com with a limit of two per customer. This is a very very good price, since purchasing the TV season on its own digitally costs more than $20 in HD! This is the second release of the Blu-Rays. The first edition did not come with a digital copy but became an unintentional “collectable” since they stopped production after it was discovered that the props department used the head of W.

Outlander Book #1 (Kindle) for $2

The Kindle e-book of Diana Gabaldon’s popular Outlander TV series is currently on sale for just $2 at Amazon.com. This is the full book, 560 pages of it. The book series is the basis of the Starz hit show with the same name, helmed by non other than Ronald D. Moore of rebooted Battlestar fame. This is not a lightning deal, so the $2 price could last for a while or end shortly. Can’t go wrong for $2!

If you like the guaranteed return of investment of the Staples gift card promotions, they are coming back during the April 19-25 (2015) shopping week at Staples brick and mortar stores. You purchase $300 or more in Mastercard Gift Card and you can receive a $20 Staples Gift Card via Easy Rebate (rebate submitted online, no need to be mailing things).

The Mastercards have a mandatory activation fee, so in order for this to be profitable, you need to get to $300 with two gift cards (eg $200 + $100). If you need three gift cards to get to $300, the activation fee is too close to the $20 gift card bonus, washing the deal.

Starbucks: 25% on Home Brewing (Rewards members start early)

For all shoppers, Starbucks has a 25% off Home Brewing sales event between April 21-27 in 2015 at their brick and mortar stores. This covers brewing equipment along with coffees (whole bean or ground, not made drinks) and teas.

However, if you are part of their Rewards program, you don’t have to wait! The sale for you starts now until April 21st. You need to show your Rewards card or Starbucks app. Not only that, but you can also shop online at their website by using coupon code SAVEEARLY over there.

It is free for anyone to join the Starbucks Rewards program, so if you are interested in this offer, for example, you saw a nice coffee maker you like at 25% off, you can just sign up for the Rewards and take advantage of the discounts.

If you have an American Express card, check your offers! Currently, at least on the Amex Blue card, you may be offered a very hot Smart and Final promotion. Spend $50 or more and get $25 back as a statement credit. Not only that, but you can use this offer up to three times during the promotional period which ends 6/30/15. April 15 – May 12 (12-4pm daily): 50% off Javiva

At Peet’s Coffee stores, between April 15 (tax day blues/parties) and May 12 in 2015, and only during the 12pm to 4pm local time hours, you can get 50% off their Javiva drinks. Javiva is a rebooted name for what they used to call Freddos, and some may know with the Starbuck-esque name of frappuccinos. Anyway, during this promotion, you just mention it to the baristas or worse come to worse, show the email informing you of this promotion, and you’ll get 50% off your Javiva drink. In most cases, the baristas will do this automatically since this offer does not require a coupon code from the consumer’s perspective.

This works with any drink size and any flavor, so you don’t have to get a tiny or a giant drink to get the half off discount. Unlike the previously mentioned Starbucks offer, you can use this as many times as you like during this promotional period. Remember though, this is only good between 12-4pm local time.

At Starbucks, between April 14-20 in 2015, you can get half off a breakfast sandwich if you received an email or app inbox message from Starbucks telling you you are eligible for this offer. You show the barista the 4-digit promo code that activates the promotion. This promotion can only be used once during this promotional period. Since they recently added a couple of new breakfast sandwiches, this is a lower risk way to try them out without using up your earned Rewards on them. Save those for things you already know you like 🙂

If you are fond of the Bigelow Green Tea, there’s a reasonable of it at Amazon if you need it in big quantities, you can buy a six 40-count boxes for $19 total. That’s 240 tea bags for $19, it comes out ot about 12 tea bags per dollar. You can save some more (5% off more) if you select Subscribe and Save. These are very popular with shoppers, with over 2500 customer reviews they average 4.6 out of 5.

Note that these are 40-count boxes, not the more common 20-count boxes found in most grocery stores.

April 10-13: Free HBO and Cinemax Preview

Just in time for Episode #1 of season five of the Game Of Thrones blockbuster TV series, Uverse and select other cable systems will be offering a free 4-day weekend preview of HBO and Cinemax. The free preview runs April 10 (Friday morning) through April 13 (Monday night). You don’t have to do anything, the various HBO and Skinemax channels will get automatically unblocked (and then reblocked) by your cable box.

The time of this is perfect because many will try to sign up for HBO Now, and in case there are issues and problems, you can always fall back to the free preview on cable (assuming you have a cable system that is running this promotion).
