It comes with a 12-month warranty.

This offer is currently restricted only to Prime members. If you must have it and you are not a Prime member, you can always start a Prime Free Trial (30 days)… The S-Pen’s siren’s call is hard to resist 🙂

Since it is a Verizon phone, if you plan to use the cellular part, you have to use it on a Verizon-compatible network, but you can always use it over Wifi.

Limit five per customer. The seller of record is MobilePros1 (97.7%). Over 1900 units got moved so far from this listing.

This was opened for unlocking purposes but it is otherwise new. As a refresher, it has a 5.5-inch screen, 3GB RAM, 32GB on-board, comes with Kit Kat and can be upgraded to Lollipop, and such. As a former high profile release, there’s plenty of information, reviews and hacks posted about it.

Nokia Lumia 530 (T-Mobile) for $20 [WP]

If you are Windows Phone curious or you are looking for a no-contract prepaid phone on the T-Mobile network, the Nokia Lumia 530 phone, locked to T-Mobile but without a contract requirement, is currently on clearance, in new condition for $20 at the Best Buy website. Free shipping with a $35+ order. One way to reach that is to get two of these.

They have basic specs, but hey, it’s just $20. You get a Snapdragon 200 processor, microSD slot that can take up to 128GB (fill it up with music and audiobooks and podcasts!), and runs Windows Phone 8.1.

Unlocked Motorola Moto E (2nd gen) for $90 (3G) or $100 (4G LTE)

Motorola’s rollout of affordable bang for the buck Android phones continues with the second generation of the Moto E, which is currently on sale, GSM unlocked, at Amazon.com, with a limit of three per kind per customer. It is available for $100 4G LTE or $90 in either Global GSM or US GSM. No contract, you own it when your payment clears. You can use it as a Wifi-only device, you don’t have to sign up for a cellphone plan.

The difference however is not just the cellular radios. The 4G LTE model is powered by the Snapdragon 410, while the 3G by the Snapdragon 200. Both come with Android 5.0 (out of the box), with a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 qHD (not to be confused with quad HD), IPS, Gorilla Glass 3, 1GB RAM, 8GB on-board storage, but thankfully it has a microSD card. It takes micro SIM cards.

NOTE: if you are planning to use this with T-Mobile, the update to Android 5.1 removes Band 12 which is necessary for some T-Mobile locations. This was verified by a Motorola representative in the comments of this Amazon review.

Certified PreOwned Samsung Galaxy S5 for $350 with 12 months warranty [no contract; choice of AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile]

Buy Amazon’s Fire Phone, extend your AmazonFresh subscription by an extra four months

It is well-known among bargain hunters that the new condition Amazon Fire Phone includes one year of Prime Membership with it. With a current price of $160 for the phone (no contract by the way), you are essentially getting the phone for $60, because a Prime membership is well worth the $100/year (2-day shipping, Video streaming, Music streaming, e-book library, and so forth). If you are a current Prime member, each Fire Phone extends your membership by another year (as in an extra 365 days).

What is not as well known but explained in its own paragraph in the Terms and Conditions page is that if you are already an AmazonFresh Prime member (the $300/year plan), buying and activating a Fire Phone on your account gets you an additional FOUR months added to your Prime Fresh membership.

firephone_amazonfresh_extension

Not only that, but the Prime memberships that come with each new Fire Phone are stackable. Meaning if you buy four new condition Fire Phones and activate them all on the same Amazon.com Prime account, your Prime membership gets extended by four more years. If your expiration was May 10, 2016 it will get bumped to May 10 in 2020.

Likewise with AmazonFresh, but instead of 12-month increments, your subscriptions are extended in four month increments.

Refurbished Motorola DROID 4 (XT894; Verizon) for $35

If you are a developer or like to experiment on older smartphones, among the latest trending deals on eBay you can get the manufacturer refurbished Motorola DROID 4 (XT894) for $35 with free shipping.

This is an older phone, and as the Droid in the name strongly suggests, this is a Verizon phone. Old school specs with Android 2.3, 4-inch screen, 16GB on-board, and things like that. It should go without saying, no contract 🙂 Over 6500 units have been sold through this promotion, with a limit of 50 per customer.

64GB iPhone 6 Plus for $800 (unlocked; no contract)

No contract.

It’s interesting how a 5.5-inch screen is a giant in the world of iPhones/iPods, but just another phone when you factor in Androids 🙂

Refurbished Motorola Moto X (XT1060, first gen; Verizon, GSM unlocked) for $100 to $120

It’s good to have choices. Case in point, the first generation Motorola Moto X, of the Verizon kind with its GSM unlocked, model XT1060, is offered in two conditions. For $100, you can get it seller refurbished by eBay seller “mobilepros1” (97.6%) in either black or white. Or for $120, you can get it manufacturer refurbished from the same eBay seller.

As a refresher, this is a Snapdragon S4 Pro phone, with Kitkat and plans for a Lollipop upgrade. It has a 4.7-inch screen and 16GB on-board among other things. There’s plenty written about it. No contract!

LG G Flex 2 (H950, unlocked, no contract) for $290

Start singing Duran Duran’s “The Reflex” because here comes the Flex screen! Among the latest spotlight deals on The eBay, you can get the new condition with one year LG warranty LG G Flex 2 (H950) smartphone (unlocked, 4G LTE, platinum-silver) for $290 with free shipping, no contract, and a limit of five per customer. The eBay seller offering this is QualityCellz (99.2%). Nearly 1000 units sold so far from this listing.

This phone’s claim to fame is of course its curved OLED display and shape. This was a former AT&T phone but it is sold unlocked. It can be upgraded to Android 5.1.1, and features a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 screen. It is powered by the SnapDrogon (ha!) 810 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board. Despite the curvature, they still managed to squeeze in a microSD slot that eats up to 128GB cards.

So many smartphone temptations these days! And you can put them to work – for $120 you can get the limited time T-Mobile plan (deadline to sign up is 9/8/15) that gets you 10GB per line per month for four lines, with unused data rolling over and smartphone hotspot finally included without annoying restrictions. If nothing else, you can designate one of those four phones/lines as a dedicated hotspot. Perhaps find one with a solid battery life for this task.

Refurbished Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon with GSM unlocked) for $190

Galaxy Note temptation if you are a higher risk shopper and willing to buy seller-refurbished products. The seller-refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a former Verizon phone with its GSM part unlocked, is offered in either black or white for $190 with free shipping by eBay seller MobilePros1 (97.6%) with a limit of five per customer.

There is no mention of warranty but they offer a 14-day return policy from receipt date. This has 32GB on-board plus micro SD. Check the bands over there if you plan to use it with a GSM provider. No contract – you own it! Around 2000 units of this sold so far according to the eBay statistics as of the time of writing.

With the new Samsung flagship phones moving away from microSD cards, this is another decision point to consider. But again, keep in mind, there’s no warranty and it is seller refurbished, higher risk means lower price. So here we are 🙂
