June 27 T-Mobile Tuesday freebies headlined by Vudu store credit and e-cookbook

A more digital than physical theme is here for the Tuesday June 27 (2017) freebies at T-Mobile’s Tuesdays. The two actual freebies are digital, a Vudu movie rental, which in practice is a $5.50 store credit which you can use as you please (buy or rent, movies or TV shows), along with a free e-cookbook, but the ebooks offered through Tuesdays are not DRM-free, you have to use some stupid website that exists for promotional purchases. So you are stuck reading the books on the web or using that company’s apps. You can’t use your own ebook apps or your own e-readers. Needless to say, their technology is maybe 10% that of a Kindle.

The two other offers are coupons. Your pet gets $10 off at Pridebites with free shipping, and you don’t even get a B1G1, but rather a sad “Buy One, Get a Second One for 99c” Sundae at Baskin Robbins ~ just like previous weeks.

Free Habit Charburger with email coupon until 7/7/17

If you are subscribed to the Habit Burger emailing list, make sure you don’t delete their emails! You may have been sent an email coupon that gets you a FREE Charburger with Cheese for FREE! You just show the coupon in your email and you get the burger for FREE! You don’t have to print it, you can just show them the email using your phone or tablet or 2-in-1 🙂

Select locations are not eligible – they are listed at the bottom of the email. You don’t have to buy anything else. You can theoretically grab the burger to go and pay for nothing.

Good couponing karma dictates it may be a good idea to buy something as well, eg get a drink or fries, or make it a combo. This encourages restaurants to offer more freebie promotions, because if no one buys anything else, they won’t run as many freebie promotions 🙂

The promotion mentions Dads and Grads, but you don’t have to be either. The coupon is good for everyone! This is a screenshot crop only. You have to use the coupon from the email you received from Habit!

Tor eBook Giveaway for June is Scalzi’s Old Man’s War

TOR (the publisher) has a monthly ebook freebie as well, but unlike Kindle First and the Samsung App Store freebie, it does not last the whole month. You usually have about a week to claim it once the giveaway goes live at the TOR ebook club page.

You have to enter your email and it is only available in US and Canada. You can then download the ebook for FREE without any DRM in the ePUB (almost everything else) and MOBI (Kindle devices). The book for June 2017 is a space-based science fiction classic, John Scalzi’s “Old Man’s War”. Get it! Even if you have the Kindle version, since this will let you read it anywhere DRM-free!

T-Mobile Tuesday for June 20 includes a $20 Amazon Music Subscription credit

T-Mobile is improving upon last week with the June 20 Tuesdays freebies for current paying subscribers to their service. The headliner is a $20 credit towards an Amazon Music streaming subscription service, in other words, you get two free months. After those free months, it will automatically convert into a paying subscription until you manually cancel it. Cancelling things is easy at Amazon, you just go to your account page and cancel it. You don’t have to “fight” with customer service or jump through hoops.

The other items are more coupons than freebies, the sad Baskin Robins coupon that isn’t even a straight up B1G1 (Buy One, Get One), and the last one is a $4 movie ticket for Michael Bey’s masterpiece (okay, put that in quotes), “Transformers 5”.

Samsung Books FREEbies for June 2017 are out

It is June 2017 now, so don’t forget to scoop up your latest Kindle First freebie if you are a Prime member. And if you have an eligible Samsung hardware device, AND you don’t object to downloading the Amazon Kindle app from the Samsung app store (it is S-Pen friendly), for the month of June 2017, you can get one of the following ebooks below for FREE!

Unlike Kindle First which offers pre-release e-books, Samsung’s Book Deals offer previously released ebooks that are almost always part of the Kindle Unlimited (KU) program. So if you have a KU subscription, you already have access to all four of these.

Since these ebooks are already out, they have a lot of reviews each, so you can use the reviews scores and text to decide ~ if none of them “sings” to you 🙂

Free University of Chicago eBook is now available!

A new month means more free ebooks are coming in. In addition to the previously mentioned Kindle First options, the University of Chicago monthly freebie is now up and running on their website. The book for June 2017 is “The Political Origins of Inequality: Why a More Equal World Is Better for Us All” written by Simon Reid-Henry. This was published in December 2015 and is 208 pages long.

Further down the page, they have a new coupon code, promo AD1611 gets you 20% off ebooks on their “Readers Catalog”.

NOTE that this is delivered by BiblioVault, and it is a DRM-ed e-book. You have to use an AdobeID to download it, which means downloading Adobe’s DRM crap. SAD!

KindleFirst choices for June 2017 are up: pick one of six as usual

Just like that, a new month has sneaked upon us, and that means, among many other things, that Prime members have a new selection of free pre-release e-books to pick from, as part of the Kindle First program.

So without further ado, here are the six choices for June 2017:

  • “Lost in Arcadia: A Novel” by Sean Gandert in Dystopian Fiction (because we always need more dystopia?)
  • “Wives of War” by Soraya M. Lane in Historical Fiction
  • “The Man of Legends” by Kenneth Johnson in Supernatural Thrillers
  • “Stillhouse Lake” in Psychological Thrillers by Rachel Caine
  • “The Man Who Could Be King: A Novel” by John Ripin Miller in Biographical Fiction
  • “Soho Dead (The Soho Series Book 1) by Greg Keen in Crime Fiction

None of the six “speaks to” right out of the bat, so I will wait a couple of weeks for customer reviews to pour in and use the reviews and overall scores as a guide 🙂

June 6 has good freebies for T-Mobile Tuesdays participants: free Trucker Hat and two movie/game rentals

June 6 in 2017 looks like a pretty good haul for T-Mobile customers that are participating in their weekly freebie promotions! You get three freebies and two coupons! The freebies are one physical good (a T-Mobile branded Trucker Hat you can pick up at your local T-Mobile B&M stores) and two digital.

The digital freebies are single-night coupons for Redbox for FREE movie or game rental. Technically one is for you, and one for a friend, but your “friend” can be yourself 🙂 You can use them to rent a movie or a video game. The first night is on them. If you don’t return it, you’ll be charged for every additional night. So a credit card will be needed for the rental even though the first night is FREE.

The other two freebies are actually coupons. If you are a fan of Shell gas, a discount is better than no discount, so that’s a plus for you. The other coupon is rather sad, you buy a Sundae at Baskin-Robbins at full price, and you get a second one for 99c. It’s not even a BOGO coupon. SAD! You can probably do better with other coupons 🙂

Samsung Book Deals for May 2017 are out (pick one from four)

Oops! I forgot to post this earlier in the month! The Samsung Book Deals for May 2017 are running, good until the last day of the month. As with before, you can pick one of the four available ebooks for FREE! Make sure the price shown is $0.00, otherwise you will be charged for it!

To get these, you need to have a Samsung hardware device that is eligible for this promotion, AND download the Kindle app from the Samsung app store (not GooglePLAY, not Amazon’s app store). The extra benefit of that app is that it is optimized for the S-Pen. Of note (no pun intended) if you have Samsung Galaxy Note phones and tablets 🙂

Some Samsung devices have this offer only for a limited time (eg 12 months after purchase), some devices are NOT eligible, while other devices are eligible for the lifetime of the device.

Regardless, all the ebooks offered through this are available through Kindle Unlimited as well, so you have another option to read them (if you are a KU subscriber that is).

My pick from this quartet was Drifters 🙂

The ebooks offered here are all previously released ebooks and they have plenty of reviews already in the Kindle store, so you can use a long list of reviews and ratings and comments to make your decision.

Samsung Book Deals is different from the Kindle First program which only offers pre-release ebooks (most of which ends up in Kindle Unlimited as well).

Free Pizza is coming to T-Mobile Tuesdays on 5/23/17

Don’t cancel your T-Mobile service just yet! Pizza is coming! According to the teasers for the Tuesday May 23 (2017) freebies (as part of the T-Mobile Tuesdays program), you can get a FREE 1-topping personal pizza at Chuck E. Cheese’s! This is per line, so if you have multiple lines, multiple pizzas (in theory at least; you may want to be discrete about it).

The other freebies are another free ebook from the Book Shout service (which unfortunately can only be read using the Bookshout website or apps, you can’t put it on your Kindle/Kobo/Nook e-readers), and another Shell coupon.

But free pizza is FREE PIZZA 🙂 Hopefully they’ll organize this better than they did the Domino’s promotion during the early days of the Tuesdays rewards program 🙂

Free 2.83oz M&M Caramel bag after Register Rewards (Walgreens)

UPDATE 5/17/17: YES! you can do multiple ones per week using your Walgreens rewards card. However, I haven’t tried paying for it using the previous $1.25 Register Rewards. I don’t want to wear out my welcome 🙂

ORIGINAL POST
Good until May 20 in 2017, at Walgreens brick and mortar stores, you can get a “share size” 2.83oz bag of the brand new Caramel M&Ms for FREE in the way of Register Rewards. You pay $1.25 at the store, and the cash register will print a $1.25 register reward, which you can use in a future purchase at Walgreens.

Since this is a Register Reward promotion, I do not know if you can keep going back and getting more. I haven’t done a promotion like this in recent months, so I don’t know if they change how ti works. From what I recall, you cannot use the Register Reward for this product to buy another similar product, and still get a new Register Reward. So if you are going to try to stock up, you may want to use “new money” to pay for these.

T-Mobile Tuesday freebies for 5/16/17: Vudu $5 credit, Pet Bandana at B&M

There’s a pretty good duo of freebies on Tuesday May 16 (2017) for T-Mobile customers as part of their Tuesdays promotion. The best freebie perhaps is at their brick and mortar stores, you will get a free pet bandana. The text of the promotion even encourages you to bring a friend along, and that friend will get a free bandana too ~ I’m assuming that friend will also be politely asked if they want to transfer their account to T-Mobile 🙂

The other nice freebie is the return of the $5 Vudu store credit, which can be used towards the purchase or rental of movies, or the purchase of TV episodes or seasons. This can be combined with any other store credits you may have on your account.

The other two offers are coupons, $7 off at Petsmart, which is not bad if you are a regular shopper there. The last one is a meh, $25 at Restaurant.com, but restaurant.com is SAD.

FREE Coffee Drink at Peets: Friday 1-3pm local time

If you are going to be near a Peet’s coffee shop on Friday May 12 (2017), between 1-3pm local time, they will be offering a FREE coffee beverage of your choice. Limit one per transaction. This is good for all the hand crafted beverages, but not premade bottled beverages. Needless to say, expect long lines unless you know of any Peets stores that are more quiet or out of high traffic areas.

Free Tor eBook Giveway for May: Zones of Thought Series book #1

A new month does not just mean a new Kindle First ebooks (free for Prime members), it also means a new free ebook from publishing house Tor which specializes in SFF (call it fantasy, science fiction, speculative fiction).

Unlike Kindle First, the Tor freebies don’t have a preset date, and once they are active, you only have about one week to claim them. But you don’t have to be a Prime member (all you have to do is enter your email address), and you can get the book DRM-free in either (or both) ePUB and MOBI (for Kindle reading) ebook formats.

The May 2017 ebook choice is “A Fire Upon the Deep” by Vernon Vinge. You can grab it at the Tor eBook Giveaway page. It is over 600 pages, so it’s not like you are getting a novella. It’s a “real” book 🙂

This is the first in a series of four under the “Zones of Thought” banner. Multiparters are often favorites in giveaways, to get you hooked on the whole series 🙂 This book averages 4.1 out of 5 based on 520+ customer reviews at amazon.com.

T-Mobile Tuesday for May 9 offers RedBox Game Night, and two months of BOXED BOLD

If are a T-Mobile customer, Tuesday’s can’t get here fast enough, although the May 9 (2017) offer group is nothing to write home about. You get a 1-night game rental through Redbox (remember, this is one freebie per line, not per account, so claim it on all your lines ~ if you have multiple lines).

The other two freebies are glorified coupons, you get 30% off at 1-800-FLOWERS (the Mother’s Day theme), and you get a two months membership to the “Boxed Bold” bulk buying service. I’m not even sure what this means since Boxed doesn’t charge for a membership anyway. The FAQ section at the Boxed website says you get 3% rewards instead of 1%. The FAQ page there also notes that if you are an American Express member, you get Boxed Gold until 8/10/17, before everybody else (except for T-Mobile Tuesdays participants of course) can get it.

Unrelated to T-Mobile Tuesdays, but of interest to Boxed shoppers, if you search for “Boxed Bold” using the search box on their website, you will be shown the Boxed Gold Coins which promise $3 discounts on future Boxed orders. I’ve never ordered from Boxed, so I don’t know how any of this works 🙂
