The Staples Free Reusable Bag and 20% off Fill The Bag Discount return Jan 24-30

The Staples free reusable bag coupon is back for the week of January 24-30 in 2016 at their brick and mortar stores. It’s the usual offer, you get a free bag (from the color choices they have available in store) and at the same time you get a 20% off discount on everyday office supplies you can fit inside the bag. These are two separate coupon codes that the cashier has to enter in their system. A lot of people do this, so usually the cashiers can do it quickly.

The usual restrictions apply, you can’t use this on tech or gift cards or sale items and things like that. You can find all the restrictions on the coupon itself. You can preview this (before Sunday 1/24/16) by checking the “Upcoming Week” ad at the Staples website. If you are looking at this after that, it will be the default ad for the week.

So even if you don’t want anything else, scoring a free bag is good enough if you don’t have to go out of your way to get there. These are pretty good bags.

Starbucks Rewards: $2 off Lunch Item (with promo code)

If you are a member of the Starbucks Rewards program, there’s a new promotion running now until the close of business on Monday 1/25/16. This offer requires the use of a promo code, you must show or mention code 2288 to the barista. This will get you $2 off the purchase of any lunch item.

Please note however that the breakfast muffin-style sandwiches (eg “sausage, cheddar and egg” muffins) do not quality as lunch items. You can check the menu on their website or more conveniently using the Starbucks apps to see exactly what is filed under Breakfast vs Lunch.

Restrictions: per the email, you can only use this promotion once per Rewards account. I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know what happens if you attempt a second use 🙂

Free Shipping at Teavana with coupon (ends 1/25/16)

The holidays are over, January is clearance month, and as such, Teavana wants to encourage more sales, they have now launched coupon code REVUP that gets you free (slow) shipping on all orders, no minimum purchase amount required. The coupon is good until the end of day on Monday 1/25/16.

teavana_Free_shipping_coupon

IF you are already have favorite items, you know where to find them, otherwise, a good place to start is to check their permanent sales page. You can sort the options by high or low price if you want to quickly check. Among them, as of the time of writing, they have three different tea tins for $3 each.

TIP: when reading about tea tins, keep in mind, that the number you see is volume, not weight. That’s because weight varies from tea to tea. Some teas are featherweight, others much heavier. Volume on the other hand, is the same regardless. So an 8oz tea tin will hold 8oz of water. How much tea, it depends on how fluffy/heavy it is.

TIP #2: please do not pronounce it tea-a-vana. It’s really annoying. The name is Tea-Vana, as in Tea-NirVana 🙂

January 17-23 (2016): 25% Back in Staples Rewards (In-Store Only!)

For the shopping week of Sunday January 17 until the close of business on Saturday January 23 in 2016, at Staples brick and mortar stores in the USA, they have a coupon code (46455 – see screenshot of weekly ad below) that gets you 25% back in Staples Rewards for many (but not all of your purchases).

$15 off First Order with Google Express with coupon

Google is running ads across the internet with a new coupon promotion for their Google Express local delivery service. If you have never used the service before (it is a “first order coupon”), coupon code YES15 gets you $15 off your order. The coupon is good towards merchandise but not gift cards or membership (eg no Costco membership can be paid with this), or other shipping and services costs or fees.

google_express_first_order_coupon

The number of stores participating in Google Express varies depending on your local area, as the stores have to sign-up with Google, and while there are chain stores everywhere, they have not taken over every city and every street corner (yet!) 🙂

According to the tiny fine print on the coupon ad (a screenshot of that is above in this post), the coupon expires 3/31/15, so you don’t have to rush to use it – just wait until you need something expensive from a local store. Delivery is free if you sign up for a free trial or for with a paid GE membership.

[DEAD] Teavana 16oz Perfectea Maker for $14 [updated]

UPDATE 1/21/16: this made a brief appearance earlier in the week, but it is sold out again… I procrastinated getting it and missed out 🙁 I will let you know if it re-appears since they have a free shipping coupon good until 1/25/16 PM.

[DEAD] Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) drops to $120 (VM)

The new year came (2016) and with it, all the Virgin Mobile USA phone discounts got washed away… But I’m sure they’ll have more sales in the next few days… CES is already underway and more phones are getting announced, so it’s natural for the existing models to eventually go through the discounting and clearance cycle…

Amazon price-matches Google Play with 30% off TV season coupon

Google Play has a 30% off TV season promotion running until the end of day on 12/1/15, and it looks like Amazon doesn’t want to be left behind, they are price-matching this offer. At Amazon Instant Video (offer only good on the website, using a web browser), use coupon code TVSEASON30 to get 30% off select TV seasons.

It does not have a list of eligible/ineligible, but the ones that are eligible mention this on their own pages. For example, Season 1 of AMC’s “Into the Badlands” is eligible and has this offer showing on its website. See screen shot of that below:

Nov 22-26: 20% off Staples B&M regular-priced items

Before the Black Friday Madness begins, in the shortened shopping week that runs Sunday through the close of business on Wednesday (November 22-25 in 2015), you can get 20% off your regularly-priced purchase price at Staples when you use the coupon code found on their website (under Weekly Ads for this particular time period) and eventually at their coupons page (staples.com/coupons).

spls_coupon

This says 20% off regularly priced items but it often works on clearance items as well. But it probably won’t work on any items that are on sale or have special promotions or Easy Rebates on them. Having said that, there’s only one way to find out: try it out in-store!

The coupon is good for the whole purchase (of eligible items), not just a single item.

Prime members with Prime Store Card: $50 off the Amazon Echo with coupon

This is a bit of a “deep cut” deal, since it has a double conditional. If you are an Amazon Prime member, and if you have the Amazon Prime Store card (not the Chase VISA, but a store credit card for Prime members), then you can use coupon code ECHODEAL to get a $50 off discount on the Amazon Echo. You can also take advantage of this promotion by applying on the spot and getting approved for the Prime Store Credit card. The Echo regular price is $180, minus coupon = $130.

NOTE: there are two Amazon Store cards. The regular store card is available to everyone who applies and gets approved. Prime members can get a special version of the Amazon Store card, the Prime Store card that has the additional benefit of 5% rewards on every Amazon purchase charged to it. The 5% back is unconditional. You can either select the 5% or select promotional financing (but not both).

DIZA 100 iPhone 6/6S Case w/kickstand for $3 after coupon

The iPhone 6S maybe brand new and at full price, but the price-war between the 3rd-party non-designer accessory makers is already heating up to crazy levels. For example, for a limited time only, coupon code XGXA9G8U gets you the DIZA 100 case with built-in kickstand for iPhone 6S for just $3 at Amazon.com. This also fits the iPhone 6. The coupon only works if the seller is “AskForMall”, but the order is fulfilled by Amazon, so a Prime membership gets it to you for free. Not to jinx it, but it’s not part of the Add-On program yet 🙂

PS: I really think it’s high time manufacturers stopped using a final “S” in their model names. You know, in English, the final “S” means plural. One can perhaps forgive sweatshop Chinese accessory makers, but what about Apple? 🙂

Peet’s Coupon: free shipping with $25+ order

If you like to scoop up some Peet’s coffee beans or tea leaves (or anything else they sell) but don’t want to spend $75 to get their usual free shipping, rejoice! Good until 10/27/15, coupon code 15FSOCT gets you free shipping on orders of $25 or more at their website.

In parallel, at their stores, for a limited time only, they have a couple of stackable promotions. If you pay with a Peet’s Gift Card, you get a 10% off discount on your purchase. Good deal but the downside of this offer is that they have suspended their long-standing promotion of a free medium drink with a gift card purchase or reload of $25 🙁

The other in-store offer is $1 off on iced beverages. I don’t recall if it’s espresso/coffee only, or all iced beverages.

And stacked with the above two offers, you still get a 10c off discount if you bring in your own cup, instead of using on of their own throwaway cups. Save the planet, save 10c! Think about it, if you go there once a day, you save $36.50, more than enough to get you a nice fancy coffee mug with stainless steel and all 🙂

[DEAD] Oct 23-25 (after 2pm): 25% off PSL with coupon

This offer ended, but fear not, there’s plenty of time left for future PSL promotions. It’s not even November yet 🙂
